Hi burgman88
I do not have Roxio, have you tried disabling any auto play features within Roxio?
It may have taken control of your filters.
Install ImgBurn found here http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
Please Open ImgBurn > Tools > Filter Driver Load Order and post what is listed.

Here is the info you requested. I uninstalled Roxio 2012 and still DVDFab will not run. ABout 10 months ago I installed Roxio 2011 and the same problem occurred and nobody could help me here on the forum. I had to go back into my system and reformat my drive and reinstalled the operating system them installed DVDFab with Roxio and then I was able to use it. I hope that I don't have to do that again.

Hi burgman88
This driver here may be causing your problem
Filter Name: PxHelp20
File Name: C:\WINDOWS\System32\Drivers\PxHelp20.sys
File Version: 3.00.95.0 [3.0.95.0]
File Description: Px Engine Device Driver for Windows 2000/XP
Product Name: PxHelp20
Product Version: [2.0.0.0]

You can remove this driver by using ImgBurn on the same page you were on, click on the Lower Class Filter: PxHelp20 to highlight it, remove selected filter.
Be for warned by doing so may cause the program that installed this filter driver to stop working correctly.
You could always reinstall the program if this happens.
Hope this helps

Hi burgman88
Did you also clean up your registry?
Some programs do not like to be uninstalled, and leave fragmented files all over the place.
Install CCleaner found here
Run the registry feature until nothing is found.
You have the option to backup your files before cleaning, I never do I trust CCleaner.
You could also try doing a system restore to a point before installing Roxio.
Hope this helps

Ok did what you said and no go on either of those solutions. When I start DVFAb I get a Windows notification sound after trying to start DVFab, go to task manager and it is shows running then disappears? This is enough to make a grown man cry LOL. It looks like I will need to reformat and reinstall Windows from scratch! This is not kool since I notified DVFab about this issue months ago and they just gave up on this issue with no solution and left me hanging!

Hi burgman88
For stubborn programs I use Revo the free version found here
I use the advanced mode and clean out everything in the last step.
Have you tried installing an older version and then updating to the newest.
Older versions can be found here
I have also read that Roxio can be a xxxxx to delete from your system, here is a link to help remove it after you have uninstalled it .
I hope you do not have to reinstall your OS, if you do maybe you should look into getting Windows 7 instead of XP.

Hello, I ran the utility for the Roxio removal, all that does is remove any version of Nero disc burning programs such as Nero 6,7,8,9 versions. These versions have never had a problem running with DVDFab only the Roxio Creator versions 2011 and 2012. I did install an older version of DVFab ver 8.0.0.2 and it ran without a problem. The problem is when DVDFab had a code change to the QT that causes problems. After installing and running the 8.0.0.2 version with no problem I upgraded to the current version of DVDFab QT and it will not start up to the splash screen! As I told them several months ago when they release the QT stuff it would not run with Roxio Creator 2011 and now 2012 so somewhere Roxio is blocking the QT coding somehow? WHat do you suggest now can you inform them of the problem and see that they don't blow it off because it's running on Windows XP Pro, that's why they blew it off! NOT KOOL. thanks for your help.

You might try creating a user account, install DVDFab on the new user account and see if it works without the other program.Last edited by 90312; 03-20-2012, 11:26 PM.How to post the internal log

If you have the ability to reinstall the other software, uninstall it and run ccleaner again to remove all traces from the registry. Then make sure DVDFab 8.1.6.8 will run without it.How to post the internal log

Did that and it still failed. Before installing it it ran with no problems. Roxio is cleaned out but DVDFab starts and task manager shows it running and then stops no splash screen. I reported this problem over 10 months ago with Roxio version 2011 and it was when they went to the QT version, non QT versions run with no problem.Last edited by burgman88; 03-21-2012, 12:14 AM.
