says I need dual layer disc

Hello all, new to the forum as of today. I actually am having the same problem as described above and have followed your advice to no avail. It will work if I just go to Main movie and start, but I prefer to know what's behind the problem. Using same dvd's I have before, settings exactly the same as before, just not working.

You're saying that you changed the target size on the bottom of the initial Fab screen from DVD9 to DVD5?

What does the Quality % display?

In Common Settings you also changed the Default output size to DVD5 ?
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Yeah, I went through and both were actually already set to dvd5. I had the info already on my computer, was just waiting to get more discs. Therefore, info at bottom reads 100%, 4599-->4599.

Edit: I can also confirm that it will produce a good copy using the main movie feature, double checked on home dvd player.

Check the default media write size in common settings, a recent beta update changed mine from 4300 to 4920.

Well problem solved, not sure what exactly it changed but I restored defaults and we're back in business.

I have the same problem. I am using version 6.2.18. What is "common setting" and how do I find it to change the setting? Thank you.

I just found the "common setting." However the box is blank. Quality listed as "N/A." How do I resolve this issue. Thank you.

Finally figured it out. Hopefully this will resolve my "dual layer" disc issue.

Having the same problem. I've never changed anything with my settings and have burned 8 discs without any issues. Now it says dvd to dvd is expired and I can't change it to dvd5 unless I change all options to default and then restart program. And as far as I know I always used dvd9 to burn because I thought that was best quality.

I didn't run into the problem until I tried burning Inglorious Bastards. I thought maybe it was because it was new or something. Then tried Casino and same thing. I looked at the file size and they both are over 8gb. Not sure why they didn't get shrunk like all other dvds I've burned so far. I just tried burning them as dvd5 to get it to under 4.7gb and the burn failed. Can I somehow get the file to under 4.7gb so I can burn them? Or is it a lost cause now?

Finally got the option for dvd5 working and was able to burn Inglorious Bastards and Casino. Only downfall was neither movie have any options such as scene selection or anything. When trying to access a "main menu" I just get "action not available". Possibly because both movies are quite long?

The next movie I will likely attempt to burn will be Taken. With it being only 93 minutes I hope all of the bonus features and normal options like scene selection will be available. If there is something I'm doing wrong please respond with any tips. Thanks!
