    How to change the compression?

    Hi,

Since a few weeks (new version?), I have difficulties to copy some DVDs.
It seems that DVDFab is creating an image that is bigger than the capacity of a DVD5...

Where is the option to modify (increase) the compression?

    Thanks,

    Xavier

To my knowledge there is no way to adjust the compression.

Please provide the following information so others can better assist you:
    SOURCE TYPE:
    TITLE:
    REGION:
    DVDFab VERSION:
    DVDFab MODE:

Gruñón is exactly right. There is no compression adjustment such as the slider found in dvd shrink.
However, there are several ways to affect the amount of compression being applied.

The first and most obvious is to select DVD5 or DVD9 as your target size.
You can also adjust the maximum file size on an SL burn.
This will give you some control. However, when in DVD5 mode, the files should always fit on SL media, regardless of the amount of compression being applied.
The disc may be poor quality if overly compressed, but it should still fit

I believe the default setting is 4300 MB, at least it used to be.
The upward limit for SL is 4472 MB. Personally, I use 4460 MB as my max.
If you burn this close to the edge, you need to be using top quality blank media such as Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim and be using hardware that is reliable and in good repair.

What is your DVD5 setting? and how large are your output files in DVD5 mode?
What titles are giving you trouble?
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

The title giving me issue is not a well known one, this is Olympia (about the Olympic games).
But the issue is common with other titles.

When I create an ISO, this creates a file of 4.826.048 KB.

        I can't burn the ISO.

Very strange, I never had issue with older version of DVDFab (version 5).

Select GREEN check mark top right\
On left: Go to DVD/Blu-ray > Write

          In the DVD section

          Writable Media Size

The default is 4450 for SL, I think, mine set to this number. It produces an .ISO aprox. 4,557,xxx Kb in size. This keeps you away from the EDGE slightly, which is a good thing.

PS: most of us ole time'rs use ImgBurn to burn images (and folders too) on the disc. See link in my sig "Setting Up ImgBurn and DVDFab to Work Together"

EDIT: Make sure you select "DVD5" (Middle bottom of the "Full Disc" menu) and it will display the "Quality" shrinkage %
