    "X" Cannot be backed up

"X" DVD is a 2011 movie. I started with DVD FAB vs 9012 Qt, and the dvd ripping process completed with no problem. I do not use Image Burn, my software for burning is Copy to DVD, and I have always used it throughout my membership with DVD FAB. When I attempt to burn. I immediately get an error window stating "Access violation at address 004F4BAF in module 'copytocd.exe. Read of address 00000000." After two more tries with this version, I switched to vs 8222 Qt with the exact same results. I did clean the disk with mild soap and water, no help aftert another two tries with this version. I also played the original disk from beginning to the end with no problem. I use Sony -R media. I finally moved on to my additional new movie, and backed it up with positive results. Location is Region 1. I am including both versions log entry for some asisstance. Thank you.

    Hi jetman4615
Can you also post your burn log?
    Thanks

      "X" Cannot be backed up

      Hi CBR929

Since I do not use ImagBurn, I am not aware of a burn log when using my CopyToDvd software. Can you assist/guide me to the burn log if it exists.

Please be advised as I stated in my post, I immediately receive the error when attempting to burn with my CopyToDvd software. I assume if the burn software did not activate, there would be no log. Thanks

        Hi jetman4615
        I misunderstood you, sorry.
I thought you were talking about DVD Copy.
I can not help you with other software,.
I can help you with DVD Fab and also a few other third party programs.
Why do you not use DVD Fab for the whole process?
If you would like to use ImgBurn you will find instructions in the link in my signature on setting it up with Fab.

          "X" Cannot be backed up

          HI again CBR929

No problem with the misunderstanding. I guess if you have no answer, the logs I submitted did not reveal any faults. I, also would tend to lean toward my burning software, however, I just finished backing up two other dvd movies, with no problems. Since the logs are not finding any new protection, I can only assume the disk is at fault, even though the movie plays fine. Do you think that could be a possibility?

The reason I have not used ImgBurn, is, I was not sure if it will accept a -RW
disk, as I usually backup on a -RW to be sure I have a good backup, with no freezing or pixel break up, rather then wasting a -R single copy disk.
          Thanks for your help

Since CBR929 is offline I'll take a stab at it. The fact a movie plays is not remotely related to whether it will backup or not, apples and oranges. I assume you are backing up to the HDD and burning the folder or image with the other software, and if the backup completes successfully the problem is not with DVDFab.

And ImgBurn will write to RW discs just fine I use them occasionally on a dubious backup myself.
How to post the internal log

              "X" Cannot be backed up

              Hello 90312,

Thanks for your reply. For the record. I do backup to the HDD successfully, and burn with another software. Since I cannot get this dvd to burn, even though the software still works fine with two other dvds since, I am lost. I would like to try IMGBurn to isolate the problem.
