Unable to find & copy SubChapters

I have a DVD that has several shows recorded on it off the TV from different times. When the disc was nearly full, it was finalized.

Here's the problem....The first chapter is a piece that ran 3:23, then there are 5 or 6 other chapters (shows) with different time lengths. When I try to make a copy of this entire DVD, it's only copying the first 3:23. I tried the "customize" option, but still only see in the view frame the chapter that's 3:23, yet when I play the disc either on the computer or my DVD player, all chapters are there.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Also....I actually tried to download the file first so I could upload it to RealPlayer and eventually parse out a chapter for YouTube, but I'm unable to do so because the files are VOB which is not supported by RP. That's when I decided to try and copy it from DVDFab.

Will DVDFab automatically convert this to an avi, and if not, does anyone know how I can convert the VOB files to avis?

          Hi dtbm51
To convert this to AVI you will need to use the ripper function in Fab.
First you will need to make sure that all the chapters are available from the disc.

I don't understand what you mean, this is somewhat of a cryptic message. How do I make sure all chapters are availabe other than that I can play all chapters on my computer or my DVD player as previously stated. I just went into the "ripper" portion of Fab, but I still only see the same first chapter that's 3:23 long.....how can I see in Fab the other 5 or 6 chapters?????

              Hi dtbm51
Your correct, I was not sure if using the ripper function would be able to see the files, I was hoping it would.
Try going into Fabs settings and disable path player to see if you can now see the files.
              Also do you have ImgBurn?
If not download and install it here
Put the disc in your drive click mode, now check to see if it says your session is closed or finalized.

You might be able to disable PathPlayer and clone it if disc to disc is the goal.

OK, this is where I'm at....I have partial success, sort of.....disabling path player did allow me to see all the chapters so I got all excited UNTIL I tried to 'copy' either the full disc, or [my preference] just one chapter in 'customize'. Neither would work causing the drive to immediately spit out the disk with an error message "Process Failed." I tried several times, both methods, to no avail.

So I tried to "rip" the one chapter and it worked perfectly EXCEPT, and no offense, but I have the DVDFab logo up in the left corner which I would prefer to not have.

I haven't tried cloning as was suggested because I can't find it in Fab9 where the "clone' tab is like on other versions; yes I do need to eventually make a full copy of this disk. The one chapter I'm trying to copy (which I did rip) is for uploading to YouTube from RealPlayer. I also have not tried ImgBurn yet, because I really am unfamiliar with it and not sure if I need it. What exactly is it used for; in other words, other than this application, is it beneficial for other things?

Lastly, can I leave PathPlayer disabled or is it recommended to leave it enabled except for times like this to troubleshoot?????

In summary.....why can't I 'copy' this disk to write to another, and how can I obtain a copy of the one chapter on the disk (in a compatible format for RealPlayer, i.e., mp4, avi) for uploading to YT without the DVDFab logo???

In version 9 to clone click on the burn tab, it's there.

And when you finish with this disc set PathPlayer to always enable.

Disks produced by DVD recorders have been notorious for not using the correct DVD standards since their inception.

Any commercial DVD burning writing program that usually comes with the burner like Nero should be able to copy this disk as a data DVD.

Always turn Pathplayer back on after you have dealt with and problem disks.

The logo will only occur if you do not have a registered copy of the Ripper module. Once you purchase the module, the logo is no longer present. Files made before the purchase will have to be re-processed.

This is why I suggested clone with PathPlayer off, it will make a bit for bit clone of the disc without deference as to what is on it.

I have never used 'clone' before...could you please tell me if I'm supposed to check either of the two boxes shown??

Also, what about the other issue of obtaining a RealPlayer mp4 compatible file for uploading on one chapter of the disk????

Check only the bottom box. I don't know about the mp4?

About the MP4, as I said above:-

The logo will only occur if you do not have a registered copy of the Ripper module. Once you purchase the module, the logo is no longer present. Files made before the purchase will have to be re-processed.
