Having trouble setting this computer back up, could use HELP please!

    Hello,

I just reset this computer back up again after being down a couple years to once again use DVDFab and burn a few copies for around the house here. Trouble is it will know longer burn ANY DVD's at all. I have a NEW Burner in it now and it just keeps kicking out DVD's.

I used DVDFab 8.2.2.8 to rip the dvd, and that works OK, but when it's time to put in a blank it just fails every time.

I also tryed IMgBurn to see if it would work and same thing, also tryed Nero and again same thing.

I have my DMA set correctly, I used ImgBurm to check that.

Can someone PLEASE HELP walk me through this, so I can get this thing up and running again like it used to.

    Thanks in advance!!!

    Burner is a TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552B

If you need or like any other info, please let me know and also how to get to it. Thanks again!

            Hi superiorventures
I agree with my friend GregiBoy, your media is not really that good.
Just because on drive may burn these discs others may refuse.

My suggestion is to make sure that your using the latest firmware for your drive which you can find here http://www.firmwarehq.com/download_1..._TS12.exe.html
Note:If you do not know how to flash your drive do not do it, it will render your drive useless.

Next I would install ImgBurn as your burn engine, you will find it here http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download and instructions in the link in my signature on setting it up with Fab.

Remember to set up the AWS in ImgBurn and your burn speed to 1/2 the rated speed of your discs, which in this case would be 2X.

Also set up the OPC in ImgBurn, to do this open ImgBurn, click tools, write and put a check in the box perform OPC before write, see pic.
            Hope this helps

              1. They are not Sony disks. They are manufactured for Sony by Ritek and are crap!
              2. Do yourself a favour and try some Verbatms.
              3. As three burning packages are giving you similar errors, would you not suspect either the drive or the media?

If you are not prepared to take note, then there is very little we can do to help. Sorry!!!

Is it just Fab that can not see DVDs or any program?

OK, this isn't' making any sense at all to me.

I did as you said and rebooted. Then I placed Aloha Fluffy in the dvd it did see it in there. I opened DVDFab and I was getting errors on reading the disk and it also locked up DVDFab. I shut down the program and it will know longer see DVD's again at all. I did what you said again and uninstalled it to see if that would work again and to NO avail. It again will know longer see any dvd's at all/

Thanks again for any and all help!!!
                        So PUZZELED and frustrated!!

Hi superiorventuresIf you do not have ImgBurn please download it from here and install it http://filehippo.com/download_imgburn/
Please Open ImgBurn > Tools > Filter Driver Load Order and post what is listed.

Your drive may also be in PIO mode and you will need to get it in DMA mode
Open Fab Click the Green top right > General > make sure Check for DMA Automatically is Checked and also Click the Reset DMA to the right click OK and restart Fab.
