I go to Back up my DVD I but id D drive as always it scans it and then tells me to put writeable media in E drive now it says I am cloning What is this?

Never mind I figured it out but why is I so slow I followed the directions to adjust my drives as posted in this forum It is twice as long s it was for 8 -
