Two movies are not copying "error while reading"

Ok, so I have the 9.1.1.1 updated version of the DVDFab. I have been apart of the family for 6 years, and this is the first time I have had trouble with movies. The Place Behind the Pines and Monsters University will not work. I am getting a disk error while reading around the 46%-66% area. I have the pathfinder enabled, and obviously I have the updated version of the DVDfab. Any thoughts?

If you get a reading error around 46 to 66% and have tried a few times with the same result you have 99% a scratch on the discs, sometimes so small you cannot see them. That's why it keeps happens around the same spot.Try clean the discs and start again. But if I am right...you have bad luck.Pathfinder enabled or disabled has got nothing to do with it as the program was well on the way for reading until Fab got to this particular spot.

There is no way there is a scratch on both dvd's around the same time they come back an error. It's something else. I think I might reinstall the dvdfab.

Well I reinstalled the 9.1.1.1 and nothing new. I'm still getting a "error while reading! please choose what to do" Anyone?

Never say no way..Remember most scratches are somewhere in the middle of a disc. The program was running ok untill it hit that spot. Anyway reinstall Fab and see what's happening. You should also send your log file so some experts here, not me, can see what may be the problem.

I'm wondering where i find the log. It seems as though you were right about one of them, but monsters university is still a problem.

You can find them this way:
                Attached Files
How to post the internal log

if cleaning the discs did not work you might try to clean the dvd drive on your computer
too, because they do get dirty.

One more thing....from experience...When the program tells you "error while reading" you have a scratch or some other dirt on the disc.No need for log file to suss it out. It's simple when it stops about the same %..... you have a scratch.

The last two lines of your log tell the tale, read errors will not be copied and gum up the works. If a good cleaning didn't work it most likely will not copy.
How to post the internal log

As I said..log file can't tell you where the problem is.Just that there is one. NOW, what I would like to recomment to the makers of this program for the future is.....Instead just saying ...."error while reading" ..Change it to "Fault on disc, error while reading" After all that's what it is. Some crap or scratch on it.That would help and make it more clearer to us all and the problem would be explained

Bert your wrong about a few things first off you say the log file can't tell you where the problem is it does to the hundredth of a second 5m 01.86s: read error: 3 210973 3961832 2056080 0 14 206861
                              5m 41.09s: read error: 3 210973 3961832 2056080 0 14 206861
So it tells you how many mins. in the read error happens. This way you can check the disk near the start of the disk they start from the inside near the hole and end near the outside rim.

Second read error's can be also caused by a weak laser from a worn out burner
cracked or warped disks.Defective disks I have seen whole runs of disks bad in one spot.Low voltage can cause read errors and disk labels glued on the dvd cause read errors and a great way to dis-troy a drive. Most read errors are caused by dirty disk, dirt on the laser lens or scratches this is true.

With this said their is software settings that can also be tried in Fab to skip over read errors so as to try to save the disk but I will tell you they never worked for me when the disk was scratched.
