Latgen, you have several read errors on the disc. They may not keep the disc from playing in your set top player but it will prevent a backup. Try cleaning with window cleaner and a lint free cloth and inspect for scratches. It could be due to manufacturing defects that are not visible to the naked eye.

It's a brand new movie straight out of the box so it sounds like if what you say is true it's manufacturer issue.
