I tried installing 9136 it could not close applications it needed closing can you advise which programs these would be so that next time I can do this manually?

Please check the related process of DVDFab in Task Manager, please kill it if exist the related process of DVDFab before installing DVDFab.
WilsonPlease post your logs the default location is:
For DVDFab 13: C:\Users\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\DVDFab13\Log
For StreamFab: C:\Users\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\StreamFab\log
Please use attachment button and attach your most recent, Internal log and post right here.
If it's the burning issue, please also attach burn log.
