Error Scanning Political Animals DVD1 & 2

Hi,

I'm trying to scan a WB region 1 DVD. I get a read error on both the DVD's in the box set.

Below is the output from the internal log file

I kept getting the read error dialog and it took the abort option a few times before finishing the scan. Any ideas what is going wrong?

If the disks are new and not dirty or scratched up try version 8 of Fab.Also try main movie with version 9 to see if it works.You can also try version 9 it with pathfinder off in Fab settings turn it back on when done.Also don't cut off your log files we are using 9146 so make sure your using it.

Thanks for responding. I tried 8 and got the same errors. I tried turning pathplayer off on both versions with the same error. The discs were clean. They are region 1 discs and my DVD/Bluray drive is set to region 2. I noticed I had 2 more region change counts left so I switched it to Region 1 and the copy is now working with no problems. In the past, DVD Fab has been able to copy region 1 DVD's with no issues though.

Personally I would never change disk region if fab always worked before as you have limited number of changes it's more likely Fab has made changes to the program that made it stop reading some disks and will have to be fixed.

My next step would of been to ask you to try another version of version 9 such as 9136 that worked in a similar case.If this didn't work i would ask one of the fab staff to look into it before i reset the burners region.

I hope you don't run into other problems by resetting your region on the burner.I would think the only time to reset a burners region is if you moved from another region to region 1 or brought a disk burner from another region to use in region 1.

I agree with my friend, if you keep changing the drives region, as soon as it hits "0", your drive will be locked for that region and you will only be able to copy discs in that region.

I suppose the the region code setting of DVD-ROM is verified when playback on PC. E.G: Region 1 ROM only could play region 1 DVD by PowerDVD and TMT, but the region 2 DVD should be read normally on PC. And DVDFab should be also open the region 2 DVD normally with region 1 ROM.

Did you open the DVD normally with V9146 after change your DVD-ROM to region 2?

If yes please post the current log again.
