    Problem with ripping R1 DVDs

Till today I was using DVDFab 3.1.something but when I indserted a dvd from Buffy: The Collectors Edition (released in, I think, 2007 and R1) the ripping process started, but at 0.23% it stopped and program hung up. This never happened to me before. So, I thought it was time for upgrade. I downloaded the newest free version from your site (from 31st of Dec). The ripping started but when it was at approx 95% the window popped up saying 'Prosess Completed Successfully.' But it didnt. The ripped dvd won't play. I tried ripping a R2 dvd. It ripped and played successfuly. Then I tried another R1 DVD [Requiem from the Darkness - A really old, probably something around 2004, release of anime film]. It ripped successfully, but it did not play [the warnings [FBI etc] at the beginning showed up but nothing else. I remember ripping with DVDFab and playing this dvd long time ago; it worked fine. I tried on Win XP and Vista with 31st od Dec release and with newest beta release - the result was the same. I newer had any problems with your software. The dvds I used are all pretty old, so I do not think they have any 'modern' copy protection.

    My PC:
    C2Q6600
    GF 280GTX
    4GB RAM DDR3
Win XP x86 and Win Vista x64

I'm really looking forward to watching Buffy, but I cant till I remove region protection. Thanks in advance for help.

Change the region in Fab Settings when doing disks from different regions.

I've already done that. The dvds I'm ripping don't have RCE (or at least Fab says so), so that shoudn't be a problem anyway.

You didn't mention which media you were using to do the writes...

If you have a computer DVD player (or D/L VLC Media Player from the web), then try the non-working disks in your computer in the same drive that wrote the discs.

If they play in your computer, likely it's the media that your set-top player doesn't like and you might be forced to change (or else your 'writing' drive is starting to go)...

Either way, please let us know.

Give it a try with pathplayer disabled
