    problems with DVD RW

    Hello,
If I copy a film to a DVD R, perfect.
I do the same to a DVD RW, my TV DVD player cannot read it.
I first copy the film to my PC and after to a DVD RW with Nero: it works.
Any idea how to avoid the Nero stage.
    Thanks,

You do not say but I suspect you are using the VSO burn engine in Fab.
Both Nero and Imgburn can be set up to work with Fab instead of VSO and you will get much better results.

Imgburn is free and I recommend it over Nero and I will not use VSO.

Have you guys checked in common settings "WRITE" that overwrite RW automatically is checked? Make sure the booktype box is checked too. All the DVD-RW discs I've seen are +R.

I just tested an RW disc I had (new) using my own advice above, I wrote Cloudy with a chance of meatballs to it and determined it worked ok then overwrote it with Josey Wales and it is working fine, watching now. I used the VSO engine so I can tell you definitively it is not a DVDFab issue.

What is the model of your DVD drive? Does it have the latest firmware update?

The new RW disc I took out of the wrap was not formatted at all, Fab formatted it before writing to it with the overwrite automatically box ticked, might have formatted it anyway I don't know for sure.
