    CRASH reading older DVD

I saw a crash while reading Coal Miner's Daughter, a movie from back in 1980. I have successfully copied this DVD in the past, so don't think the problem is the disk. I retrieved all of the data and was able to write it to a blank disk using 9.2.3.5. I was unable to fill out a crash report because that crashed as well!

Internal Log for Coal Miner's Daughter crash

Howdy again -- I've excerpted two instances of the above crash from this morning.

Try disabling PathPlayer for this one. Don't forget to enable it after in any case. You might want to update to 9.2.3.6 first.

Thanks....think I'll wait until 9.2.3.6 is official and try it instead of <PathPlayer off><make copy><PathPlayer on> every time. If I see this problem again before 9.2.3.6 is out, I'll try the PathPlayer trick.

          Hi LanceG
This is an old trick we use in this instance, you have nothing to lose by trying it with Path Player off, just save it as folder and see if it plays right on your computer then you can burn it to disc.

Even if it's a little thing, do something for those who have need of help, something for which you get no pay but the privilege of doing it.

This is especially true on older discs where PathPlayer is not required to find the playable path, sometimes it will work where PP won't.
