You do know that telling us what you are doing to get this error does help with trying to help fix your problem. So could you do that for us and also post what is asked here

please post your most recent ImgBurn log. i think your drive is crapped out.

have you tried to burn at a lower speed? there is an updated VSO burning SDK in 6.1.0.2 beta.

Well first its not its not me, but a person I am trying to help by remote. He is trying to backup a copy protected DVD. Having never used DVDFab myself I was relying on reading the forums and have seen several similar problems both here and on CDFreaks with no solution. The DVD reads fine, the burn process starts and fails at different points. I cannot find a log containing Imgburn, it may have been lost in the uninstall reinstall process. I will try the new Beta the next chance I get and at a slower speed. Strange that everyone gets this problem after upgrading, and some have been fixed by returning to the old VSO burning engine while others not. He uses Verbatim media regularly btw. I did forget to check if it was single or dual layer though. I cropped the vso_burning log because it was too long and simply repetitive.

Almost forgot... Its Windows Vista Home Edition (trouble in itself),
Other software installed Honestech VHS to DVD, NTICD/DVD maker, both were installed before DVDFAB and before the problem occurred. No external drives. No hardware changes since DVDfab has been installed.
