Problem Playing Burned Disney movies on DVD Players

Hello, I am having problems playing burned copies of several Disney movies on DVD players. These copies will play though on, computers, both Windows and Mac Machines. They will also play on X-Box 360’s. The movies are Dumbo, The little Mermaid and Sleeping Beauty. Has anyone else had similar problems and what can I do to fix it?

Well what is the blank media you are using DVD-R or DVD+R? Does your DVD Player support playback for those blank media? What is the brand of blank media you are using? Also posting the information listed below would help for members to help you

    Help Us Help You

If you are posting about an operational problem with one of the DVDFab products, you will improve the speed and accuracy of the response by providing some information in the very first post that will probably be needed.

First, make note of any error codes or messages that appear in popup boxes and put them in your post. Information on error codes that appear in the DVDFab UI are captured in one of the logs we request below.

DVDFab keeps logs of its activities that supply basic system information and can help pinpoint where and when an error happened and help pinpoint the cause. The default location for these logs on most Windows systems is:

    C:\Documents and Settings\your username\My Documents\DVDFab\Log

The logs are simple text files that can be opened with Windows Notepad if you want to read them. If the size exceeds the forum’s attachment size limit, you may need to delete older entries or copy and paste the relevant ones into a new file. The log files can be attached to a post using the "Manage Attachments" button below the editing box.

dvdfab_burn_vso.log Attach for all problems. The entries are time stamped with the most recent at the top.

dvdfab_burn_imgburn.log Attach if you have ImgBurn set as the burning engine and the problem concerns disc burning. Time stamped with the most recent at the bottom.

dvdfab_process.log Attach if DVDFab crashes and the crash report window does not come up or complete correctly or if internal error codes appear in the DVDFab window (“Task Failed…”). Time stamped, most recent at the bottom.

dvdfab_internal.log Attach for all problems. Time stamped, most recent at the bottom. Please edit to include only the most recent or relevant log session.

    Other Information:

Depending on the nature of the problem, it can help to know:
If this happens with all discs or just one
    Your operating system/CPU/memory configuration
If you are using external hard drives or optical drives
If you have made any recent changes to your OS or system hardware
If you have other DVD or BD software installed, particularly if recently added.

Posts with all the requested information will be answered first.

      1. I am using DVD+R, and have been for all of the DVDs that I have copied. I do a lot of archiving and these are the only movies that I have this problem with.
      2. I am not getting any error codes when I copy the DVDs and they run perfectly when I play them on a computer.
      3. When I try to play them on a DVD player or a Blu Ray player I get a message that there is NO DVD loaded.
      4. I have tried copying the whole disk and main movie only and I get the same results.

        1. I would make sure the DVD players support DVD+/-R media.
        2. I would burn at 2x to 4x speed and see if that makes a difference.
        3. Check to see if the movies are NTSC or PAL. Your DVD players may only support one of these formats. Computers and XBOX does not care but most DVD players only play one format or the other depending on what country you are.

1.) Whose are they?? (as in - Which Co. manufactured them)?

2.) When you do a copy, what media are you using? (see 1.)) and at what speed are you writing the DVD?

3.) Which burner are you using? The VSO burner as supplied with DVDFab, or another one?

If you're not sure who made the blanks, the info will be in the burn log (C:\Documents & Settings\Your Name\My Documents\DVDFab\Log) or you can D/L a utility from the web called DVD Identifier (freebie).

When you're looking in the log, bear in mind that every time you start Fab, a log is generated. Those are the 9 or 10 line entries you'll see at the top of the file. Scroll down further into the log to get an actual burn record - they'll be the long entries in that file.
