Hi giraffesocks2004 and welcome,
The short answer is no.
If you have a previously cloned file on your hdd, you can use Write Data mode and essentially reproduce it on a disc, but you can't use clone mode with a Source file, only a Source disc.If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Thanks. I have been trying to do a copy of STAR TREK XI with IMG burn. Everything looks good but when I play the DVD, it plays for 34 mins, freezes for a second & then jumps to middle of movie. So I thought I would try cloning. I will try the write, to see if that works. Didn't realize you could write to disc. Will let you know how that works. Thanks for all your help. Love this product.

You're more than welcome and definitely let us know how you make out.
A burn log may help us figure this out.
The default location is:

Hi again,
First off, this burn log indicates that you burned this disc with VSO, not Img.
Your DL media (RITEK-S04-42) is marginal at best.
The only consistently recommended DL media is Verbatim +R DL.
The MIDs are MKM 001 (2.4-4X) and MKM 003 (up to 8X).
The manufacturer's location is important.
Try to purchase the media made in Singapore (MIS).
The stuff made in India (MII) is not a bad second choice though.
It beats the crapshoot with other brands.
(You'll have to look on the spindle wrapper for the location).
You're burning too fast with the Ritek media.
Slow down to 4X.
If you burn the MKM 001 media, don't exceed 4X,
although some ppl have good luck at 6X with the right burner and firmware.
I don't think your burner together with VSO likes this media very much.
You may have better luck with Img if you want to try again with the Riteks.
Dunno how many you have, but my advice is still switch to the verbs.
Keep in mind, it's not just the burn process and how they play now...it's also how they'll play down the roadLast edited by maineman; 02-26-2010, 01:50 AM.If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

giraffesocks2004 can you explain to me what this means?Even if it's a little thing, do something for those who have need of help, something for which you get no pay but the privilege of doing it.
