    Merging and converting to avi

    Hello.
I'm trying to convert my library to avi for win7 mCe.
converting from 1 disk to a avi (just the movie).. work just fine.

But now I have a problem with those 2 disc movies.(lord of the rings for example)...

I start by extracting the main movies for each disk to seperate folders.
I start the merge process to merge the two into one.
Once I have my "merged" folders, I now have two "chapters" in the final output.
But now I need to convert to avi.
How? It wants to create two seperate AVI's....when I run try to run the convert to AVI segment.

So now I'm confused and quite literally stuck.

    Help anyone?

You cannot do this with Fab. It will always retain the two titles.

The function is more truly called "Merge Disk" not "Merge Titles".

You will have to find a third party AVI joiner but if the joined file is over 2Gb, you may encounter playback problems as it will not conform to the OpenDML specs.

      thanks..

      I found this:

and my final file is 2.2gigs...
It appears to work in win7 mce.. going to test on my 360 extender next.

If it's a limit to avi's.. should I save as wmv for these larger files?
I have about 5 movies with 2discs......... (3 being LOTR)

It depends al lot on what you are playing them with. Some players are more demanding than others on the specs being adhered to,

I suggest that you then just try it and see what the results are like.
