Please check that your burner has not reverted to PIO mode.
First off, just click on the Reset DMA button in Fab.

Also it is usually caused by a problem with those specific dvd's. Inspect & clean them for a start.

I still suspect a DMA issue.
In device manager, what UDMA mode is displayed for your burner?
Can you post a screenshot of this?

Please uninstall your burner off the IDE controller (probably secondary) in device manager and reboot
XP will reinstall the burner and assign the appropriate drivers.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

                  Hi again bigtonyt,

                  Could you please clarify...
                  You said,

"And no I am not use blu ray just DVD to DVD"

"Hey I have been using the same DVDs Philips for 5 years never took that long to rip. "

"Sorry but I just brought new blu ray burners"

So this sounds like you're using the BR burner HL-DT-ST BD-RE WH08LS20 2.00 to rip plain, old dvds
(ie., commercially pressed dvd 9 or dvd 5).
                  Is this correct?

Unfortunately, the screenshot of device manager doesn't show the info we need...just the burner models. You need to expand the IDE controllers
(probably secondary, as I said) > Advanced > and check the current transfer mode. It's not enough that it shows DMA if available.
It has to actually be in UDMA, most likely it should be in UDMA 2 or UDMA 4.
This is also where you need to uninstall the burner as I described previously.

You have Intervideo virtual drive installed.
I suspect this will cause you nothing but headaches...I'd get rid of it.

I also think your LG BR burner is riplocked which will limit your rip speed, but I think it should still rip at 4 X or a bit better.

Are you able to burn to regular dvd 5 ok?

Could you please burn the files to a dvd 5 and post a burn log

How long does it take to rip a BR disc with this beast...lol?
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Thanks for posting a burn log...at least it puts to rest the DMA issue.
I'm reading where this ODD is a S-L-O-W reader, but nothing that would explain what a slug it is for you.
There's also some modified firmware, but I'd bee thinking twice about voiding the warranty on a drive with this kinda price tag. We're not talking a $30 drive.

How does your other BR combo drive read?

How is this thing cabled? Directly to a SATA port on your motherboard?...
? SATA PCI card...? SATA/RAID PCI card.
Can you unplug any other ODD's on the same controller and give it another shot?
Recommend uninstalling the BR burner and rebooting as suggested before.

I still don't like that Intervideo virtual drive.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

                        ok

Yes it is I have two burners I will rip the same DVD using both burners and see if there is any different. I will delete the virtual drive and try it again all my DVD burners and my hard drives are plug in to my sata ports that are on my motherboard. I did uninstalling both DVD and the virtual drive before I did the last post reboot and it reinstall and that’s when I burn the DVD and post the log. Will try the next test and post it when I come back thanks for all the help and support you have help and giving me so far thanks

                          Hi,

Sorry I've been in and out of this thread...I've had almost no spare time lately.
I'll try to give this some more thought.
Thanks for keeping up with the questions
