I've been having trouble with the booktype on the last couple revisions, in fact I've been burning with Nero because I just can't get Fab and VSO to do it.
How to post the internal log

Hmmm...well that's an interesting new wrinkle.
Thanks for posting. I never would have known.

Way back when, ever since Fab failed to bitset my older LiteOn drives, I've generally relied on modified firmware.
Occasionally, I use the utilities from Benq and LiteOn and since these auto-set the Benq and LiteOn drives, no worries
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

I had not tried v7.0.1.2 when I posted so to be sure I wasn’t lying I did my copy of Gamer this morning and my results are the same. Fab and VSO will not bitset for me. I don’t have a firmware mod, just the software command has always worked and still does with Nero. I have a player that won’t play a +R unless it is bitset to DVD-ROM and I’m betting that is the OP’s issue as well.

Agreed, this sure seems like the lead suspect

I tried doing the burn w/ Nero like mentioned above, but still same problem. Plays on everything but the Magnavox.
I downloaded some 'optical drive info' program...it seems to say that all the dl's I'm burning ARE bitset to dvd-rom:

            Type DVD+R DL
            Book type DVD-ROM
            Manufacturer ID MBIPG101 R10 (065)
            Capacity -
            Layers 2
            Layer break 3.55 GB
            Write speeds 2.4 X
            Disc status closed
            Copy protection -

So perhaps its not my media or burner, but just the fact that my Magnavox standalone is junk?

Then these Moser Baer discs probably will NEVER play in the magnavox.
Pick up some Verbatim +R DL.

I just saw a 50 pk of these at Sam's Club for $42.01
These are MKM 001, made in Singapore too.
You can't beat that with a stick
