..I haven't bought the special 24-month download link option?

I don't want to pay any more than I have to. I was a bit confused since most companies allow you to redownload in case of a computer crash or moving to another computer. I saw the option in the shoppng cart.

Yes, most of us here regard that option as a waste of money.

Absolutely.
Up until recently, downloads were the only way to obtain the program.
Now you can opt for a bkup cd for $11.00 US.
Frankly, this is a waste of $ too, in all but very rare circumstances
