DVDFab v12.0.9.7 (Win) region changing not Copy DVD

I live in the US (region 1), and I copied a region 4 DVD with the newest version of DVD Copy, but my Sony DVD player says that the copy can't be played because of area limitations. I thought DVD Copy automatically removed the region code. How can I make a copy that will play in my region 1 player? (I don't want to change the region of the player.)

go into settings, (upper right corner, 2nd icon to the right), then common settings, then DVD, click "DVD Protection" on the left of the dialog box, in the resulting window be sure the top 3 boxes are checked (I generally keep them all checked).
