    Main Movie still copy protected

After using dvdfab 7 to copy the main movie to my HDD, It is still copy protected. It's there at about 6 Gb.
I've tried disabling and enabling the pathplayer.
I couldn't see any other suggestions and I'm pretty sure I got the css download. (DVDFab7030_avangate-689)
    Thanks in advance
this is the log that may help I think.
What am I missing? I'm very new to this.
    Thanks in advance

Why do you think it's still copy protected? What exactly is the problem you're having?

I then put into a free studio manager to end up with it on my phone, it says dvd is protected from copying. I only use the free part of dvdfab.
      Thanks

Will the ripped file playback on your computer? The free version will not copy just the main movie to your hdd, only the full disc.

No I don't think it plays back in my computer with the Vista Premium basic package stuff. I never tried.
I'll try the whole movie (and report back), thanks heaps.

Download VLC media player (it's free) and try using that to playback the ripped folder on your hdd.

Just to make sure we're on the same page, is this the first time you used Fab? If so you should have a 30 day trial period in which case the program is fully functional and you can rip just the main movie, then convert that to a format for your phone using DVDFab to Mobile.

If the trial period has expired then as mentioned Fab will only rip the full disc with no compression (6GB sounds like the full disc) but you can use DVDshrink (also free but outdated and no longer supported) to get the main movie from the ripped DVD on your hdd.
First thing is make sure it will playback on your hdd.

Thanks for the vlc player hint, the Main Movie folder opens in that and plays fine from my hdd as a list of vobs. I had fab6 and just upgraded, pretty sure I've used it b4 although I used to mainly use decrypter. I figured the trial would run out anyway ( I do about 4 dvd's a year) so I'd stick with what I knew (not much obviously).
So it's on my hdd, plays, but appears copy protected to the other s/w. I assume it's not the whole disc/main movie problem?
                Thanks

I think you have downloaded the non-CSS removal version. Download the CSS version. Links are in this forum.

I have a suggestion for you to try. Do a movie using DVDFab but do not make it region free, keep it the same region as the original DVD is. You can change the region output in DVDFab common settings-Protection, check out the attachments to know where to look for this. I think your program you using might not work on region free files or like GregiBoy said you downloaded the CSS version

Thanks for all your prompt replies.
I think it's the css or it wouldn't have the next part, and it plays in vlc from my hdd.
I have unticked rc (and rce ) so I'm trying that. ( I didn't actually see the links on your post Agj - well first time around)
Will the region code enhancement un ticked aswell matter as it's nearly done?
                      Thanks for all the help.

Still seen as protected, trying just with region code unchecked, but rce checked as per pic in link .

I just tried another movie, used default settings and it removed the copy protection perfectly.
Are there movies/dvd's that dvd fab just doesn't crack?
                        Is it a tweaking issue?
Both discs have copy protection, same region etc.
These are brand new discs (fwiw).

I don't see how it's possible to rip the movie and play it back from your hdd with VLC and and yet have it remain "copyprotected".
Initially, I was thinking you're have a codec issue, and maybe you still do, but perhaps The Crow is causing Fab and/or free studio manager to stumble a bit.

Does the new rip ( the one that's "clean") work ok with free studio manager?

                          Are you using Vista 64-bit?

Do you still have an older version of Fab?...something of the Fab 6.xxx variety.
If so, please try The Crow again.
You can also try re-ripping the already ripped files again...maybe try it with Passkey this time.

If you need the installer for an older version of Fab, drop me a pm with your email addy and I'll get it to you.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

My guess is that free studio manager is tripping on the extras in the full disc rip and it's just giving a generic warning. Try using DVDshrink to get the main movie only and then try your software again.
We're kind of on a slippery slope since the file does play on VLC and we can't provide support for third party products, I can't really suggest more to try here.

It seems to be a 3rd party issue. Even after running thru dvd shrink, studio still thinks its copy protected. Thanks for all the advice. Will suggest this (fab) because of this forum.
                              Take care.
