Problem With Latest DVD Fab Version 7

hello can someone please help me.

I have never encountered the following problem until the latest version of dvd fab v7 26th march. i am a media centre builder and installer i use this program along side a program called yammm for receiving meta data for films within windows 7 mc under the movie library tab, now this is the problem i am getting.

when you open up dvd fab insert film and back it up it copies the film no problem i always generally choose main movie only then you click on next the following screen you then get an option called volume label where i would enter the correct name of the film i.e amercian gangster but as you remove whatever is there and attempt to type the correct movie name after typing a few letters the cursor just goes back to the beginning i cannot enter the correct movie title name any ideas?

i have checked through the settings and i cant see anything i need to change or is this a bug in the latest version of dvd fab?

this is happening on a customers pc and my pc at home so its not a problem with my pc and this has never happened before with previous versions of dvd fab i could always just enter the correct movie title name in the volume label field.

Help Please! Will be much appreciated.

Yea, it's a "bug" if you will call it that way. It just how developers decided to surprise us this time.... it's how DVDFab 7 have it build. Cursor isn't going back to the beginning after you type a few letters, but when you hit the space bar. If you use underscore key instead of space you'll be alright.... However, it wouldn't be "pretty" with spaces and all that..

The fact that many were having problems & errors caused by invalid characters in the volume name has caused the Fab team to do this by design.

The volume name must now conform strictly to the volume naming convention supported by most operating systems which does not allow spaces nor invalid characters.

You can always rename them after the rip is complete if that is what you wish.

Allowing departure from the correct volume naming convention created too many problems.

PS: Why don't you create the XML file for the metadata?

hi and thanks for your replys guys.

the reason i dont do the xml file myself is that its ok if you no what your doing but some people who i sell my media centres to only know the basics the way i have things setup at the minute is the customere pops the dvd in they want to copy choose main movie or full disc click next give it a title let it copy away for 15 minutes or so or much longer for a blu-ray then the next time they load win 7 media centre go in to movie library the new film will appear with a proper cover and synopsis information all done by yammm no need for hunting down info off the net and stuff and dropping it in to the appropriate folder if you see what i mean i no dvd fab has its own dvdid.xml feature built in but i could never get it to work it never retrieved any data within media centre for the film unless i am doing something wrong but i cant see what? i have gone through all the settings and stuff lots of times. at least the way i do things its fully automatic and any idiot could use it ha ha and everything was perfect until this re naming of the film title thing!.
thanks again for your input and help!
