    Won't even see DVD

Hi, I'm using the trial version of DVDFab, I've been reading all the good reviews about it. It's just a magnificent soft, congratz. I'm considering getting the lifetime version (We love movies at home). I've burned 2 DVDs successfully so far. However, today I bumped into a surprise when I inserted a DVD just to realize my box wouldn't even recognize it. The movie is Bride Wars. Does this happen often or maybe I'm just unlucky?

I'm using a double core HP box with Windows Media Center Edition 2002 with SP3.

    Thank you,

with DVDFab closed does your computer see the DVD? I did this movie when it was released using the latest DVDFab at that time

It could be a faulty DVD. Have you inspected it for cleanliness & scratches?

        Hi Anonymous and welcome,

No this just doesn't happen...something strange afoot here.
On occasion, a new flick may not decypt with the current version of Fab.
Fengtao is very quick about updating though...usually just a day or two, but on a rare occasion, it may lag by several days.

I've not heard that this flick has been a problem for anyone.

        When you stated,

"when I inserted a DVD just to realize my box wouldn't even recognize it"

Do you mean Fab doesn't "see" it or that a software player doesn't see it.
Is windoz explorer able to open the disc or at least ID it?

Please run through the list on troubleshooting...

AGJ: No I won't see it, even with DVDFab Closed.

GregiBoy: I did check and seemed OK. I even tested it in my DVD Player and it worked fine.

maineman: Yes I meant my machine won't even see it. I don't get the usual autoplay window. I tried to open it with explorer but the drive seems empty.

          Thanks,

Sounds like you have malware or a bad filter installed. Download and install malwarebytes it free and will find the malware if you have it. Download and install ImgBurn if you not have it already it free. Go into tools Filter drive load order and post the results to this thread in a post reply

Just put my DVD of Bride Wars in and my computer can see it and DVDFab is able to open it as well. Have you downloaded and used Malwarebytes yet?

Yes, I fact I just became a student in some well known online community's university for malware removal. One of the first steps is to check and clean one's own system for malware. I've scanned my system using Kaspersky's online system, MBAM, etc. I don't think malware and the like would be the reason, if that was the case then I wouldn't be able to play any other DVD or CD and I just tested a couple of other DVDs.

Well, it sounds like that DVD is borked then.

since the computer not able to see this DVD then it not a DVDFab issue and probably a bad DVD like Gregiboy said.

OK thanks guys, I'll return it to the redbox and just give up on it I guess, I had it for about 3 days already lol. It's good to know this might just be an isolated case. Seeing how the movie protections seem to change by the hour nowadays, I thought I was going to have to get familiar and into the subject sooner than what I thought.
