    Burning Newbe...

    I saw on here where alot of users use Imgburn with DVDFab...So I thought I give it a try and see if I could do a Verbatim+R DL DVD. I only learned after a couple of failed attempts that I also had to uninstall DVD Decrypter after being told it conflicks with Imgburn...OK attempt number 3 started out ok then failed...So I have attached the Imgburn log hoping someone can make something out of it....

    From my past experiences and research I've learned that this particular error associates with hardware. I remember one instance was short power supply believe it or not. But most of the time it's either DVD drive is too old for the media or firmware/driver out of date. Your media fairly old, so your DVD drive shouldn't be that old. What I suggest to do is to update your firmware/driver and set ImgBurn speed for this particular media for 2x speed.

      I'm with IPopov50 here.
      This is a reliable older burner...have 2 of 'em myself.
      One still resides in a LiteOn 5005 standalone (the factory burners in the 5005 were crap).

      You can try to flash your firmware to a modified KC4B...courtesy of the codeguys or the KSOB (modified).
      I'm not sure which is better for DL burning. You might want to look around a bit.

      Your litey has a mediatek chipset (solid as a rock) so you can flash it 'til the cows come home, backward, forwards, crossflash...whatever.

      Check your cables, make sure the connections are snug.
      Be certain your IDE cable (ribbon cable) is a 80 wire/40 pin cable and not a 40 wire/40 pin cable.
      Probably worth it to pop in a new one. Last time i looked (it's been a while) they were about $3 US.

      You might also want to uninstall the burner in device manager or as long as you're in the case,
      unplug it, boot up, power off, replug it and power up

        Tried to burn with the speed 4x?

        The supported speeds are these
