    Burn failed-error 122

    The burn has failed constantly. I have the latest driver updates for the Lite-On drive but it is a constant problem. The last version that worked without a problem was 6.0.4.0. Version 7 has constantly failed. The disks are good and have never had a problem with them. HELP.

        122 HWS_FAILED_CALIBRATING 22 // Write failed at the beginning of the media (often a media that is poorly supported by the drive)

        Post a burn log.
        What media are you using?
        What speed are you burning?
        What burn engine are you using?

        More information is required before help can be offered.

          According to your previous posts on other threads you have been having this problem for the past 7 months.

          Your problem is most likely the disc or the burner or a combination of the two.

          Post more information as requested.

            The Lite-On drive has the most recent drivers, downloaded today. The disks have been used without failure over 1,000 times. DVDFab has worked properly for the past 2 years. Version 6.0.4.0 has done an excellent job but the next version started this problem. 7.0 has never worked.

                Regardless of any success you have had in the past something is wrong now and this.........is a good indacation of at least part of the problem.

                This is another indacation of possible problems.........These are sub-standard disc.

                As I mentioned it seems the problem is with your disc, your burner or a combination of the two.

                I got stuck with some CMC MAG AM3 disc a couple months ago under the Verbatim brand name... Very poor results with them.

                  One thing I forgot to mention is the use of Imgburn as a burner instead of the default VSO burn engine .

                  My best results with this media was ripping to a hard drive folder first and then burning from the hard drive at 8X with Imgburn.

                    Fixed problem

                    Thank you all for your help. I fixed the burn problem by running Microsoft "FixIt" and reinstalling the driver for the drive. It works well without any errors now.

                      Had that error with my first attempt at Avatar. DVD had defaulted back to VSO at the last update. Changing it back to IMGBurn cured that...
