Hi Daisy,
Unfortunately, the log you posted in not the burn log.
Actually there are 3 types of logs...process logs, internal logs and burn logs.
We really need the burn log. It describes in detail what actually took place...your burner, firmware, media ID, burn speed, errors...yada, yada, yada.
You should find it in the same location.
The default location is:
C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\Log
ThanksIf it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Is this an HP Laptop?
This is part of the log but I do not see anything about burn speed or the media you are using.
Is there more of the log?

The first thing I see is the media is 16X but your drive is seeing it as a max of 8X.

This seems to be a trait of the drive in your laptop in that it can not read the media correctly.
Laptops in themselves are not the best choice for burning moves as they tend to get very hot.
An external USB burner would eliminate that problem.

I use internal burners in a USB enclosure.
Works good , cheaper to purchase and the burner can always be used in a desktop at a later date if needed.

A question.
What is the source of the movies you are trying to copy.??
Hard drive folder?
DVD disc?

Agree with my good pal Gruñón.
Slimline burners (such as yours) are less than ideal for video archiving.
A few additional thoughts on how to optimze what you have...
Your media...CMC MAG-M01-00 is crappy.
Sorry, this isn't meant to be critical or offensive.
Most likely they carry the Memorex brand.
This media will be hit or miss even with the best equipment.
Do yourself a huge favor and pick up some quality media...for SL discs...
Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim.
Since you're in the U.S., Taiyo Yuden is only available online.
Verbatim can be found at many of the brick & mortar stores as well as online.
If you want names of some retailers, let us know.
Please change your burn engine to Img.
It is much more reliable, configurable and overall will yield better results even with marginal/poor quality media.
Still, change the media. It's not just the burn process which is inconsistent with this media. It also goes to the longevity of the discs themselves.
Here's a link to a great video tutorial and a D/L link for the app
.
Going with an external burner is a great idea.
The price will end up about the same, ie., ext burner vs. int burner & an ext enclosure.
Both options have their advantages.
More on that later, I gotta hit the sack.If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
