Sub picture is closed captioning where you have the words on the screen.
It is up to you if you want them or not you may be able to turn them off with your remote for you DVD player. Usually forced sub pictures are embedded in the movie where you will have them there when some one is speaking a different language, so you can read what they are saying.
I have my sub pictures turned off, so that they are never checked when analyzing is complete.
