I know what the defaults are set at 4300 for dvd and 8000 for Blue. As with the 80% compression rule of thumb for compression visibility. What is the size limits before noticeable degradation?

I would say it depends on the persons vision, I myself use 4474 for the output size for single layer media

Yes that is more or less what I said on this thread on the same subject.
I use 4350.
