First you could try to disable the anti-virus-program. Sometimes they block uncompressing installation-programs.

I'm having the same issuse! I'm running vista home premium. I tired everything and nothing works to get it to open. I have 5 different dvdfab free versions and now none of them will open at all. Have you found out anymore info on this problem?
