Only one sucessful write out of ten attempts

I started using DVD FAB 6 in March this year. Every burn was sucessful. In April, my hard drive crashed. I replaced it and upgraded to DVD FAB 7 v. 7.0.7.0. Now I am only getting one sucessful write our of ten. I may get 5 or 6 "write error 05 21 02" and 1 or 2 "write error 03 0C 00" Nothing has changed on my computer but the hard drive and the DVD FAB version. All other hardware and software are the same. I have been using "Optimum" brand DVD+R dual layer dvds from the same bundle. I will attemp to attach a recent VSO log.

I'm sorry I had to paste part of the log. My log file was to large to attach. How do I reduce the size of the log file when using the "Manage Attachments" ?

    Hi bomba,

I understand that nothing has changed (except your hdd), but this is very much a dynamic and complicated process as opposed to a static process.
    "Something" has changed.

First off and no offense, dump the crappy CMC media. This is poor quality media and not recommended for video archiving.
Pick up some Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim media.
If you're burning DL, use only Verbatim +R DL and look for MIS (made in Singapore) on the spindle label

Change your burn engine to Img.
Here's a great video tutorial on how setup Img with Fab

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

In addition to maineman comments, which I completely agree with, you must reduce writing speed, especially with this media down to probably 4x.

Please post your logs the default location is:

      For Win7 C:\Users\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\Log
      For Vista C:\Users\User Name\Documents\DVDFab\Log
      For XP C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\Log
Please use attachment button and attach your most recent, Internal log and post right here.

I've had sucessful results already but I will follow all of your advice.
I set the write speed to 4x. The log shows requested write speed as 4x. During the write process, the UI window shows write speed beginning at 1x and slowly increasing to 8x. Is this a false indication? I have had four consecutive sucessful writes since I switched to 4x.
I will also take mainman's advice and switch to the Img. burn engine. I am looking for a dealer here in Georgia the sells Verbatim. I'm not familiar with Taiyo Yuden, is this sold in the US?
        Thanks to mainman and IPopov50.
