    Hey CB,
Not a bad guess and honestly, I'm guessing here too, but I don't think this is a DMA issue...here's why.
This is a new HP. I would bet the farm (and I'm not a gambler) that his bios setting for the SATA controller mode is AHCI, maybe RAID, but definitely not IDE.
    DMA is not applicable.

Like you though, I'm not familiar with nero logs either.
I haven't used nero for dvds in years and even then not much.
Like I said, I could be all wet here.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Hi CBR, I tried your idea and the DMA "is" checked and I did reset and do a restart, and then tried burning again, and still the same. I didn't burn it to disc this time, I just tried playing it on the pc, and still the same. Now I'm looking for the IMG download as I was told was in here somewhere, thanks, Scotty M.

Hi Maineman, I've narrowed my issues down to 2 movies, "Rendition" and"Daybreakers", as for the others one way or another I made them work. I backed up a few movies for my granddaughter just this morning, and they were newer disney, and absolutely no problem, full disc or customize! I'm trying to find this IMG Burn now and give it a whirl, I'll let you know how it goes, thanks Scotty M.

Hello Maineman, here is what happened after uploading Img Burn, and using it instead of Nero. I burnt "Rendition" movie, completely from start to finish(meaning thru Fab then Img) set on full disc. Had to do it twice, didn't play anything first try, so went back through and tried all over again, then 2nd time, all it would play was the same as nero, everything but the actual movie! Have day off today, would love to figure this out, Thankyou, Scotty M.

Sure you have the main movie in the compilation? The sizes are very low.

Hi there Gummigutta, I never look at those numbers, they really don't mean anything to me, but I thought the same when I looked on the disc itself. Seemed to be a lot of space left. I don't know why its skipping passed the movie and not showing an error, like I said before I haven't changed anything at all on the fab and those 2 times times were set on full movie, and the movie itself plays with no problem on both my DVD players. So now what?? Me confused bigtime!! Thanks Scott M.

Try this as I do not have this movie Put the movie in your DVD player and as the movie is playing take note of what Title# it is, when you open Fab and it analyzes the disc make sure it is the same Title# that was playing as before and chose that number.
I have seen Fab pick the wrong title before, not very often but it did.

                  Hello CBR929,
I finally had a chance to run the "Rendition" movie through my Fab again today, and duh, I just noticed after the analizing process was done that the movie wasn't there at all, just 30 minutes at the most in sections showing, nothing over an hour! Weird, eh? I guess for some reason its not picking up the movie. When I set it on just "main movie", all its giving me are the previews as the main movie. I don't know what to do now, i guess give up? Let me know what you think. I blew off a couple of other movies today without a snag, no problems. So I guess the problem is down to 2 movies, "Daybreakers", and "Rendition", These are the very first movies to stump me in over 3 years, Thanks , Scotty M.

Did you try playing the whole movie and seeing what actual titles are playing? Does the title # change?

It sounds like this movie is poorly authored and has been split into different titles instead of one contiguous title.

Can't really say as I don't have that title.

Strange as I had no problems with Daybreakers but I will give that movie another try to see if a problem does exist but I highly doubt that one does. I will post back in a day or two my results

Hi guys, sorry to leave this thread high and dry but was busy at work. But I did pretty much figure my problem out. After burning and reburning over and over again, using IMG or Nero, have come to realize there seemed to be a problem with my factory installed burner!! I didn't have the chance to retry Rendition or Daybreakers again, as I had to return them back to my friend, but the same issue happened with a few others since, but tried it, by burning from my 2nd burner I had them install at purchase time, and it blew through no problem! It wouldn't burn a couple of them on the factory HP burner, but "would" on the 2nd one. So I am assuming that was my problem all along, it "has" to be! Feel kind of stupid now that I didn't try it sooner but the damn computer is brand new, you wouldn't expect this. Now just how am I going to word this one to them to get the burner replaced? Any advice in what to say or ask, its still under warranty?? Thanks alot guys, really appreciate the time spent on my issue here, I had a gut feeling it wasn't my DVDfab, it has "never" let me down before!!! Thankyou so much, I've learned a lot more about the different settings etc, that before never had to play with , sincerely Scotty M.

Not a good thing to mention as we do not discuss copying movies we do not personally own.
                            This is against forum rules.
