    corrupted discs

I have used the trial version of dvdfab 7070 to fully copy (9dvd discs, i didn't exclude anything) several brand new dvd movies. The reading/writing processes were done without a single error.

I have tested ~3 movies so far, and ALL of them look corrupted near the end of the movie. The dvd stops spinning and it tries to re-read the scene (stops/respins etc) to no avail. As soon as the original movie is in the player, there's no issues, so, it's not a problem with the dvd player.

Read what is listed below and post the info mentioned to your next post reply to this thread.

    Help Us Help You

If you are posting about an operational problem with one of the DVDFab products, you will improve the speed and accuracy of the response by providing some information in the very first post that will probably be needed.

First, make note of any error codes or messages that appear in popup boxes and put them in your post. Information on error codes that appear in the DVDFab UI are captured in one of the logs we request below.

DVDFab keeps logs of its activities that supply basic system information and can help pinpoint where and when an error happened and help pinpoint the cause. The default location for these logs on most Windows systems is:

    C:\Documents and Settings\your username\My Documents\DVDFab\Log

The logs are simple text files that can be opened with Windows Notepad if you want to read them. If the size exceeds the forum’s attachment size limit, you may need to delete older entries or copy and paste the relevant ones into a new file. The log files can be attached to a post using the "Manage Attachments" button below the editing box.

dvdfab_burn_vso.log Attach for all problems. The entries are time stamped with the most recent at the top.

dvdfab_burn_imgburn.log Attach if you have ImgBurn set as the burning engine and the problem concerns disc burning. Time stamped with the most recent at the bottom.

dvdfab_process.log Attach if DVDFab crashes and the crash report window does not come up or complete correctly or if internal error codes appear in the DVDFab window (“Task Failed…”). Time stamped, most recent at the bottom.

dvdfab_internal.log Attach for all problems. Time stamped, most recent at the bottom. Please edit to include only the most recent or relevant log session.

    Other Information:

Depending on the nature of the problem, it can help to know:
If this happens with all discs or just one
    Your operating system/CPU/memory configuration
If you are using external hard drives or optical drives
If you have made any recent changes to your OS or system hardware
If you have other DVD or BD software installed, particularly if recently added.

Posts with all the requested information will be answered first.

      dvdfab_burn_vso.log attached

      Other Information:
If this happens with all discs or just one
So far, with all burned discs
      Your operating system/CPU/memory configuration
      Win7 Pro 64bit (original), Q9550, 4GB DDR3 Dominators
If you are using external hard drives or optical drives
      None that interfere with DVDFab
If you have made any recent changes to your OS or system hardware
Plenty, but nothing to do with dvdrw
If you have other DVD or BD software installed, particularly if recently added
Ashampoo Burning Studio 6, but i don't use it to burn dvdfab-copied movies (i use dvdfab burner for this)

        This is crap media...no offense.
Please try to pick up Verbatim +R DL (preferably MIS...made in Singapore, but the MII, made in India is better than your current choice).

Writing speed requested x8.0, effective x8.0

Slow your burn speed to 4X

Please switch your burn engine to Img
        Here's an excellent video tutorial:

With these changes you can give the Riteks another shot as it will optimize your chances of success with this media, but seriously,
do yourself a favor and pick up the verbs +R DL MIS if it's at all possible

The other changes you mentioned may well affect how your system and Fab get along with one another, but let's not go there, not yet anyway

          Hi Athanasios2104
I totally agree with Maineman on all his recommendations and if I also my add your drive has a firmware update you will find it here
NOTE: if you do not know how to flash your drive do not do it, it will render your drive useless and will be an expensive door stop
          Hope you get it working

Thanks guys, i sure can find Verbatim dvds, i just asked for cheap 9 dvds and they gave me Intenso ones. I used to use TDK but they're no longer available. Yet i have to say i thought all dvds were more or less same quality... guess they're not!

About the firmware update, i see Samsung has a "LiveUpdate" app for easy firmware update. I don't think it will screw up the dvd i have already flashed several devices most with companies' tools, didn't meet any problem.

I'll also switch to Img burn engine, slow down the write speed, re-write a dvd and report back

About the verbatim dvds, i found the 10 pack and the jewel case that also has AZO certificate on it. Are the ones we're talking about?

Yup, ideally they should be MIS (made in Singapore)....
Look on the spindle wrapper for manufacturer's locale.

Like I said, even the MII are better than what you have.

Did you D/L and install Img yet?
As long as you still have some of the Ritek crap left, you might as well give it a whirl.

You'll be much happier with the verbs...good move

Not yet, exams end on Tuesday.
Luckily my trial period ends on Friday (9/6), enough to burn & test again some discs.

Btw, with Ritek you mean Intenso?
In any case, i don't have any left.

Groan...it's been forever for me and I still hate the thought.
                    Good luck with your exams

I don't know the specific brand name, but yeah, I was referring to this media from your burn log:
