"Error While Reading" when trying to use DVD to DVD

I am trying to copy a DVD recently purchased. DVD to DVD is what I purchases today.

Have a Gateway PC from 2007 that I don't think is dual layer. The DVD's I am using are DVD-R and these are'nt dual layer either.

When attempting to copy, it almost finishes but near the end I get a

"Error while reading! Please choose what to do"

Is this because my DVD Drive is not dual layer? Do I need to buy a different DVD drive and different media? Or can I use my existing DVD drive/media in order to this?

    Please let me know. Thanks.

    It's all guesswork without details.
It sounds like you never get to the burn process since you're receiving a read error

Please read through the Help Us Help You thread
    (link in my sig below)

    And post the logs:

    The default location is:
    C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\Log
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

As maineman said, more info required but it sounds like that there is a defect on the DVD.

Maineman's thread that he indicated covers how to check this.
