    Backup A Backup??

    Hello all.

I have a question. I backup original DVD`s, untouched backup to folder. Then i create a perfect DVD5, keeping only Menu, Main movie, Main Audio & One subtitle. This way the Main title is untouched or compressed as little as possible.

But what with backing up a copy?? I have several copies, no longer the original. Same backup methode as an original dvd, ful backup to folder. Then i follow the same steps, keeping the four parts as stated above. Will this work ok? Or can there be some issues? I presume if i backup a copy and keep it as is. (all copies are allready DVD5) They will backup with no error and work perfect. But i wanna do as i always do, keep the four parts. Like if the DVD has spanish audio and subtitle. Then i wanna remove them, feel if i keep everything copied the same way, there is more order to my collection. LOL.

    Thanks for any input!

Use Clone option. Or use just ImgBurn to copy DVD

      Thank You!

But like i said, i would like to change the output of the dvd. Keeping only menu, main movie, 1 audio, 1 subtitle. There for delete the things i don`t want. Will this be acceptable for DVDFab? or will error happen? Thanks again.

It shouldn't be any problems. You are not going to have menus though, but you can create new ones using DVD creating programs...

My backups are dvd5 copies with menu, main title, audio and subtitles.
I`m talking about unchecking the subtitle and /or audio i don`t want. The rest i keep as is. Since the movie i backup have original menus i can`t see them beeing removed. Then i backup again with menu, main title, 1 audio and 1 subtitle. Removing everything else that was on the original copy.

          Thanks.

Goodness me. Why even ask this question? As IPopov said, just try it!!!

If you don't want to waste a disk, just copy to an ISO on your hard drive and check that.

                I will try it!

I backed up an orginal dvd, and playing back from iso with vlc player the menu didn`t work correct. When i went to chapters and clicked one i got right back to the main menu. So my question is there a reason why the iso will not playback correct on my pc but work ok on a standalone? That is why i asked. if the dvd works one way on a pc and another way on a standalone.

Why do you not have the originals?
The forum rules require the ownership / possession of the original in order for it to be discussed here.
