I realize that "...Nothing else has changed in 30 plus DVD's...", but despite this statement, "something" has changed.
Also the MID (media ID) you're using is crappy quality and thus unreliable.

Your error is specific for failed finalization.
Since you used VSO, you can try the following to force finalization on the already burned discs:
(it looks complicated, but will take only seconds).

DVDFab Finalize a disc

Right click on the Fab Icon >
Left click Properties >
Left click Find Target >
Left click PcSetup.exe >
Left click on the + in front of Patin-Couffin driver >
Now left click once to select your burner >
Right click on the selected burner >
Navigate to the bottom of the dropdown to Finalize the media

You can also try to force the disc to finalize with Img.
Frankly, I'd recommend using Img anyway.
It is a more reliable and configurable burn utility and will afford you a better chance with the Moser Baer crap media
Sorry, no offense intended, but it really is crap.

Also recommend, do yourself a huge favor and pick up some Verbatim +R DL media, and look on the spindle wrapper for made in Singapore.
This is the best DL media out there and really the only DL media we recommend

Excellent advise as always from Maineman

If I also may add try slowing down your burn speed to 4x. (Rule of Thumb 1/2 the rated speed of your disc)
If you install ImgBurn which many of us here use here is a way to finalize your disc's with Img
Put the disc in your drive, open ImgBurn > Tools > Drive > Close Track / Session / Disc.Hope this helps
Also your drive has a firmware update you will find it here
NOTE: if you do not know how to flash your drive do not do it, it will render your drive useless

Don't know where that came from?

I have tried Imageburn to finalize as well as the steps using DVDFab. I have been using the same medium throughout all my DL burning.

Yes, I know.
However, we didn't know that you tried to force finalization with Img and with VSO via the steps I outlined.

The atapi error Code 05 21 02 is suggestive of poorly compatible media and/or crap media.
Moser Baer is amongst the worst stuff out there with respect to DL media.

I seriously doubt that your LiteOn is at fault, but anything is possible.
You can try your current media with Img at 4X...assuming you haven't tried this as well?
But keep in mind, it is not only the burn itself that's important here, but the longevity of the bkup.

Again, if you insist on using the Moser Baer media, this is of course, your prerogative.
My advice is to dump the crap media and purchase the verbs as I suggested above.

I do not mind purchasing good media and will in the future. The thing I would like is to figure out what is wrong so I do not make coasters out of good media. With that said I downloaded the same version to another computer here and used the same media I have been using and that completed twice now with out issues. So now I am feeling it is a drive issue? But have not the knowledge to figure that out yet.

It doesn't have to be a drive error. Its most likely just the media or your burner isn't liking that media, try burning a different type of disc with your liteon and see if it errors out or not.

As long as you have some of the Moser Baer discs left, you might as well give it a shot and burn 'em at 4X
Img is more likely to be successful with marginal/poor quality media as opposed to VSO which is problematic for many users.
Good move on the decision to pick up the verbs though, you won't be sorry.

Like I said, I very much doubt that the fault lies with your litey.
It's a late model, solid, all-around burner and the firmware is utd.
Still, anything is possible.

As far as the verbs, your litey should be fine with either:
MKM 001 (2.4-4X)... I would burn these at 4X (6X should be ok too)
MKM 003 (8X)... Go ahead and burn these at 8X

No I have not tried Img to burn them. I will look for the how to to have DVDFab use Img to burn and give that a try. Nothing to loose and knowledge to gain. Thanks.

I have not set up Imgburn yet. I have installed another Liteon drive, the same as the one I have. Did what I have always done and used the same crappy media and it works no problem.

So I suspect the drive is an issue? Can one wear out a drive? How long would it take? Can light scribing contribute to accelerated wear? Food for thought.

Sure, a drive can fail. Afterall, it's a piece of hardware. And lightscribing certainly contributes to wear and tear and laser usage.
Tough to say how long, but your litey can't be very old.
Is it still within the warranty period?

Personally, in all the years I've been doing this, I've never had one fail (any brand)...retired, yes, but not fail.
In all, my family has owned about a dozen LiteOn drives.
For the most part, solid drives.

This could be something simple like the cabling to the drive, but I doubt it.
Still, check the connections and try the older one with the new cables (do you have new cables?).

You can bench test the old litey.
Download and install
Nero CD-DVD Speed v4.7.7.16

and run the Create Disc utility...
Not only will this show stuff like burn speed and disc rotation, but it will also disply cpu usage, drive buffer info.

Don't D/L this utility from nero...now called Opti Drive Control since they now want $25

Some of the benchmarking can get pretty complicated and can have a steep learning curve.
There are some tutorials around if you look...probably the same D/L site I linked
