    Writing to HD suddenly freezes

Hi, i have used DVDFab to make ISO copy of my dvds to my harddisk for some time without problems.

But then a couple of days ago i suddenly expirenced that during the "writing" process the program freeze. The "task time elapsed" stops counting but the "total time elapsed" continues to count. And nothing happens.

I am using VSO Burning engine, and are copying to DVD9.

Can anyone explain why the the write process suddenly gives me problems? (there is around 20GB free disk space on my HD)

Please see attached log and screenshot.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi mrmullet
Could you please post your logs: The default location is:
    C:\Users (For XP "Documents and Settings")\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\Log
Please just copy and paste your most resent burn log(s) and post right here.

here is my log(it was also attached in my initial post).
Notice that the first entry in the log is a success - but that was just a small test file, it fails each time i try with a movie.
The copy process allways works...it is the write process thats fails. Sometimes it writes over 50% before it stops and sometimes it stops after writing less than 1%.

I have tried to reinstall DVDFab without any luck.

Download and install ImgBurn and then in DVDFab Change the burn engine to ImgBurn and give that a try as it better than the one that comes preinstalled. DVDFab uses burn engine to create iso files and the VSO burn engine gives many users problems. Also internal and process logs are helpful. They located document-dvdfab-log but you know that since you posted the burn log

i will try that. BUt since i copy in DVD9 the imgburn will ask me to make some kind of chiose?
I would not appreciate if i cant just make one click to complete the entire proces, it would annoy me very much if the progarm stops halvway in the process and i have to make a chiose.

I have now tried with imgburn, but it also fails

I thought my harddrive might was corrupt since the fail from imgburn was "cyclic redundancy check failed", but have tried to make the DVD copy to an external USB HD which resulted in the the same error. I have tried different DVD but all fails. It is so wierd....everything was fine up until just a couple of days ago

If my DVD drive does not function correctly then it would not be able to make the copy process successfully?(the fail is during the write process) if im correct regardgin the copy process, then I can rule out that the problem has something to do with my DVD drive.

            Please help me

Did you chose the layer break option that ImgBurn suggested??? Please go through the tutorial again and make sure that the settings are correct and also choose one of the layer break positions from ImgBurn

Imgburn gives me several breakpoints, does it matter which one i choose? I have both tried to select a layerbreak and i have tried to ignore it.....either ways it fails

I have defragmented my HD...and i have tried to make the copy to an usb HD and it fails, so it is unlikely that is a problem with both my Harddisks.

Is this the only disk THE_WIRE_S3_D1 that is giving you problems?

Try giving this a read through
I am stumped by this: E 20:18:54 Failed to read file: 'C:\Documents and Settings\mikkel\Dokumenter\DVDFab\Temp\FullDisc\TH E_WIRE_S3_D1\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_2.VOB'
You are getting errors reading from your hard drive which does not sound good Possible causes a dying drive, corrupt and or bad sectors on hard drive, corrupt software. You may also give this a read through
I have defragmented my HD...and i have tried to make the copy to an usb HD and it fails, so it is unlikely that is a problem with both my Harddisks.
I doubt that too but, it may be your Crive

(there is around 20GB free disk space on my HD)
Are you sure you have enough free space???

Have you checked the cables on your drives to make sure they are not loose?

You may also try cleaning your drives with a can of compressed air.

Your drive also has a firmware up date you will find it hereNOTE: If you do not know how to flash your drive do not do it, it will render your drive useless

Even if it's a little thing, do something for those who have need of help, something for which you get no pay but the privilege of doing it.
