can't play movie on my dvd player

Ok, I've been using DVDfab for years, never had a problem, I copy as iso to my hd and burn using nero. I upgraded from 5 to 8 and when I burn, all I get is the Video file no audio. I've read that newer dvd players don't require the audio file. My dvd player is a 2 year old Lite-on player/burner.

I can play the burned copy on my pc but on the player hooked to my TV it either won't play at all or sometimes it'll show the end of the movie.

Sorry if this is in the wrong spot, I'm at my wits end here.

I keep going back to dvdfab 5 when I can, some movies won't work with it hence the upgrade to 8.

any help would sure be appreciated. thanks in advance.

Look in Documents and Setting and post the fab logs here.

The audio folder has been empty for years, the audio is in the video folder.

    Post your logs.

      documents and settings

ok, do you mean the log files in the dvdfab folder under log? I know to Y'all this might sound silly, but I don't see anything called documents and settings. I remember that was a file I had back before Vista.

also the files in that folder are:
      dvdfab_burn_nero.log
      dvdfab_burn_vso.log
      dvdfab_internal.log
      dvdfab_process.log

This is what I mean by a guessing game.
I did not know you were using Vista.

This is what we need to see.........all of them.

        dvdfab_burn_nero.log
        dvdfab_burn_vso.log
        dvdfab_internal.log
        dvdfab_process.log

          logs

ok, before I read this, I deleted all of them and started over. I've been trying to change settings so much, I went back, clicked default and tried again. same results though. I wanted you to see a fresh log (ok, that sounded funny)

also, this has been what I've done for years.
          1. insert movie in drive
          2. run dvdfab
3.click main movie and unselect foreign languages
4.click save to hd as iso
          5.run nero and burn/verify.

          always worked.

          hope you can help.

          Thanks,
          Gilbert

sounds like you use Nero seperately and not from DVDFab. So from how I see it the problem is with Nero and not DVDFab as I did this movie last week with no problems. Also since you use Nero seperately for the burn you have to find where nero saves the burn log because DVDFab does not save them if nero not used from DVDFab.

Install ImgBurn if you not have it and set DVDFab up to use ImgBurn and here is link on how to do that do not forget to set the AWS for ImgBurn and the video shows how to do that.

Once that set up burn the DVD and it will play correctly, well hopefully

              i'll try

I did dl imgburn yesterday, I tried/burned the iso file I had with it. it burned but still did not work.
I will go change it to work with imgburn and retry.

do you think this is a compatability issue? nero 8 won't work with dvdfab 8?

              HATE doing things different!! lol

I'll let you know how it works out

To get Nero 8 to work you need to find the Nero burn rom exe and set DVDFab to use that if I remember correctly as it been awhile since I have had nero installed on my computer.

I think it more a burn to fast or bad blank media problem

                  yes!

I did have dvdfab set to use nero, still had the issues.
I went and set it to use imgburn, and it worked.

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate the help.

now to back up my dvd's that were "uncopyable" before!
