    No DVD Will Read

I've been using DVD Fab 6 & 7 and have not had any problems, upgraded to 8 when some of the newer DVD's wouldn't copy (like Avatar). After spending $75 for a lifetime membership, now NO disc will read. I put the disc in the drive and DVDFab pops up, does the progress bar and shows that it's reading the correct disc and then when it's done I don't see anything in the boxes to indicate that I can rip my movie. When I select the source above it does the same thing.

I've now tried 9 movies, all the same result, three of which I was able to rip with previous versions just a couple of days ago.

Any assistance is appreciated, otherwise I think I may have gotten a bit ripped off.

    Thank you.

P.S. - I'm running Windows 7 and the latest release of DVD Copy.

    Hi ibscas
Sorry to hear that you are having problems.
Did you purchase from this site?
Open Fab > Click the Blue ? > Click About what does it say under the options you purchased?
Are you installing Fab as administrator (especially with Windows7)? If not instead of clicking run click save then open the folder and right click and install the program as administrator.
Make sure that Path Player is enabled?
Open Fab Click the Green top right > Protection > Path Player click Always Enable Path Player click OK restart Fab and try again.
    Also please post your logs
Please post you logs the default location is:
    For Win7 C:\Users\User Name\My Documents\DVDFab\Log
Please just attach your most resent log(s) and post right here.
Also make sure that you are using the most recent version you will find it here

    Hope this helps

Even if it's a little thing, do something for those who have need of help, something for which you get no pay but the privilege of doing it.

The version is the latest (8.0.2.2). I'll work on getting the logs uploaded.

          Hi ibscas,

You need to do a clean uninstall of DVDFab8 because sometimes programs can get files that become corrupt. You can uninstall DVDFab with the uninstall program. Open My Computer and go to c:\Program Files (OR) wherever you installed DVDFab, delete the "DVDFab" folder. Open "c:\WINDOWS \ PREFETCH" clean all the relevant ".pf " files with DVDFab. Then restart computer and check if there are some related files left, if does, please delete them.

After all that clean procedure, please install the latest beta version at to see the result, hope this helps.

See I have had the same issues with every version after 8.0XX I have installed on several types of operating systems thinking that may be the issue but it wasn't. And they were all clean installs no other version of dvdfab was on these other systems. I have tried it on windows 2000 advanced server (clean install), windows 2000 (clean install) and windows vista (had older version). I ended up going back to the last released version of 7.xxx just so i could use the software.

I would love to have 8 running I have been a user since 2008 and and may not renew if 8 won't work. and yes my pathplayer is enabled.

And 8024 beta is the same way they wont display the movie for copying but if you click on the check mark under options and there it does display the movie and all the options for it.
