Yeah i know that could be a factor...not sure that it is but the thought crossed my mind. I have no anti-virus, anti-spware, or firewalls installed on this machine. I know what your thinking but this machine dosen't go online, and all files that get transfered over via USB Drive are scanned bofore they ever touch that machine. I have SP4 on the machine and that was the last time (a year or more ago) that machine was online. That being said aside from an initial GDLPLUS.DLL issue when I installed v7 of DVDFab, I haven't had a single issue with the machine until v8.

Someone did say something about using Imageburn and that I haven't tried. I assume and perhaps incorrectly, that the program burns ISO files to a disc. If that is the case I am not too interested since I have found more than a few DVD players that won't play that format. Granted those machines tend to be either old Panasonics or outright cheap DVD players but still...when burning with Nero I have as yet to find a DVD player that won't read the old format it outputs.

BTW thasks to all for your input it is appreciated even if a bit of my frustration may have come out in a reply. All in all my perception of my monitary investment in this program has not waivered, too glad I bought a lifetime Key (only wish I bought it earlier before the features came unbundled). Ah growing pains...

I still have DVDFab 5, 6, and 7 installed. Should I go ahead and purge them from the system and registery as well?

When I cleaned the registry (just did it a minute ago) should I have been looking for anything other than DVDFab 8. There are of course many references to the three previous versions, but is there another entry name I should search for?

Most people think that if you just uninstall a program that it is gone and there is nothing left, "Wrong" there are most likely registry entries, so if you know how to clean your registry I'm sorry
When installing Fab instead of clicking run click save then open the folder and right click and install the program as administrator

Make sure all programs that use auto play are disabled.

Install ImgBurn open it up tools> filter driver load order, post what is listed

After you uninstall it, run a registry cleaner as well and take care of all DVDFab fragments in it. Then, when you go to re-install, disable all antivirus, antispyware, and firewalls running and try again. Something is corrupting the install files.

You need to do a clean uninstall of DVDFab8 because sometimes programs can get files that become corrupt. You can uninstall DVDFab with the uninstall program. Open My Computer and go to c:\Program Files (OR) wherever you installed DVDFab, delete the "DVDFab" folder. Open "c:\WINDOWS \ PREFETCH" clean all the relevant ".pf " files with DVDFab. Then restart computer and check if there are some related files left, if does, please delete them.

Have you tried burning with Imgburn? Its what most people here on the forums use because it is highly reliable.

"Open DVD source: " won't complete when you start the program. It will start to analyize the DVD the bar will start to fill then the window "Open DVD source: " window shuts down and I am left with no source.

Running WIN2kPRO on an old P4 machine. Versions 7 and previous were working fine before the install of 8 now version 7 will go through the whole process except buring. Once it reaches that point it keeps asking for blank media even though I have tried different discs from different spindles. When using v7 I get a process 2 error=111 message.

I just installed v8.0.2.2 when this problem started. So I uninstalled re-downloaded the installer and installed again. The issue persisted. I eventually downloaded v8.0.2.4b and ran 2 clean installs and used a different DVD just in case it was that simple an issue and still the same end result. I haven't re-tested 7 to see if it will make it thru the whole process as I ran the original DVD on another machine while playing around with this one.
