alice in wonderland keeps crashing program

Hope I am doing this properly. Been burning a bunch of movies without problem and yet keep having issues with Alice. Mostly what happens is that the disc reads, and then in the very beginning of the process of writing to my external drive, dvdcopy closes. this has happened numerous times.

in my movie folder on my external HD, I just see an ISO folder name Alice in W.that is 768kb.

really, I just want to learn how to trouble shoot or at least see the thought process/comments people might have.

I hope I included everything that might help and apologize if I left anything out.

    thank you

so i upgraded to the most recent beta and it reads the disc, i then set my destination which is my external drive, and hit start. the program immediately dies.

      Hi jongaro

      1) Have you tried to write to your internal drive to see if you have the same problem.

      2)13:41:19: Task_1 failed! Error=102()

102 DVD_Error_Read File, is a read error please give my friend Maineman thread a read through

really, I just want to learn how to trouble shoot or at least see the thought process/comments people might have.
      3) If you would like to learn, you can do as I did.... all you have to do is read the posts everyday and see what is suggested for fixing the problems.

If you could post a burn log with an actual burn so that we can get more information.

Give these a try and post back

thank you for the quick response!

so this probably doesn't happen to often, but my new lite-on internal drive (iHAS424) just arrived. installed it in an ext. enclosure and ran the beta. So other than the new dvd drive, i'm doing everything else the same, and...

it is currently half way through the process of saving Alice.

So when you can normally burn movies, but one movie doesn't seem to work, it more than likely is hardware related.

        go figure

If we had an actual burn log we could have seen if your drive was in PIO mode and would have suggested to reset your DMA
          To do this
Open Fab Click the Green top right > General > make sure Check for DMA Automatically is Checked and also Click the Reset DMA to the right click OK and restart Fab.
This was also mentioned in the sticky by Maineman
          Glad it's working for you
