For your problem, please try using another video player(such as VLC Media Player or PowerDVD) to play your converted AVI files and see the result.

Unfortunately I have the same problem(converted AVI plays at twice the speed (as if I'm fast forwarding it) and there is no sound). I usually convert my purchased DVDs to AVI format and transfer them to my external HD. I have never had a problem like this until today, when I upgraded from 8.0.5.0 to 8.0.5.5
I think it's a bug in 8.0.5.5 that needs fixed. Take care you all and thank you for giving us this wonderful product!

I'm having the same problem with 8.0.5.5 too.
Video plays super fast but the audio is playing at correct speed.

I'm having the same problem with this ripping (converting) issue too. Either converting to an AVI or MKV the resulting converted file plays at twice (or so) original speed. I have examined the container everything looks normal such as 29.970 fps, etc., but the file plays at twice the speed. V8.0.5.5 btwLast edited by Mathandler; 12-05-2010, 09:21 AM.
