BD Ripper (3D Plus) Cant Rip Blu Ray with 8.0.5.0

Hi for some reason when i try to rip a Blu Ray with 8.0.5.0 it crashes! i've reverted back to 8.0.4.0 and the ripping is working fine but would obviously like to go back to 8.0.5.0 cause you guys are always doing an awesome job updating the software with new technology! it opens it as normal, when i hit the start encoding button it starts ripping then the FPS Drops and it freezes! then the software crashes, i checked the preview tab no film is displayed! any help would be much appreciated

    Hi SaulJericho,

Please try to install DVDFab 8.0.5.3 Beta at
    to see the result.

I also had this problem and downloaded the beta version as suggested. This worked initially, up to 40 frames per seconds but after a minute or two the graphics card driver fails, recovers, and the framerate drops to less than 1 frame per second. Same as pre 8.0.5.3.

      This is the event viewer entry;
Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

          Thanks for the speedy update.

          I've installed the latest beta.

Initially it ran well, but then after 15 minutes the graphics driver failed again and the fps dropped to 1 or less.

The failure does not consitantly happen after the same period of time. Sometimes it is a couple of minutes, other times it can be up to 15 minutes.

I changed the decoding from DXVA to Software. This works, but very slowly.

Are there any logs I can send you, or do you think that ATI may need an update?

This may be a heat related issue. Using DXVA is going to maximize the use of your video card but it may not have the cooling necessary to keep up. I'm not sure what you could do if this is the case but thought I'd throw it out there.

I'll monitor the heat levels and let you know.

I don't think this is heat related. The tempaerature does rise, but generally doesn't get above 50 degrees befoe failing.

I enabled overdrive and manually set the fan speed higher so that the temperature would remain lower. It stayed around the 40 degrees mark, which is generally the idle temperature.

As I say, doesn't look like it is heat related.

I switched of GPU acceleration, enabled turbo CPU and it happily ripped the Blu-ray in just over 2 hours. Excellent quality and in a time that is acceptable. It seems to make more sense to use the GPU, but if it works using just the CPU and and software, that's fine by me.

                  Thanks.
