BD Ripper (3D Plus) Sound not very Crisp

First off, I think this software is excellent, It has surpassed my expectations of quality by 150%. Great job to the developers.

I "WANT" to buy this, but, there is one thing that i can't get past, and it is unfortunately a deal breaker for me. I know that it must be a setting I'm overlooking, but, when ripping Blu Ray (whether it be for my PS3 or my Xbox360, it appears as if the sound isnt very crisp.

I should let you know that I am only playing my encodes through standard stereo speakers, but, they are good speakers and I would expect the sound to be a bit better than it is. The sound is almost as if it's encoding at 96Kbs. It has that muffled swirly sound (lol. I hope I'm explaining that the proper way). This happens with every Blu Ray I've tried. The blu ray disc (on my PC and on my Xbox and Ps3 plays crystal clear), but, once encoded from the disc, the sound is muffled no matter where I try to play it. Whether it be my PC, Laptop, PS3, Xbox,..etc..etc

    My Pc is a:

2.60 gigahertz AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core
    128 kilobyte primary memory cache
    512 kilobyte secondary memory cache
    64-bit ready
    Multi-core (2 total)
    Not hyper-threaded
    3072 Megabytes Usable Installed Memory
    ATI Radeon HD 2400 Series
Running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit

When ripping the blu ray to PS3 or Xbox360 format, I am choosing DTS audio (it's the only one that i can actually say gives me the correct audio track for the movie (no commentary or anything). So, I am basically not changing any settings from the defaults.

I really hope I provided enough info for someone to shed some light on this, as I would really like to buy this software, but, because of this, I'm hesitant.

Thank you for the quick reply. As far as how I'm playing the file9s). On the Xbox, I play it from an external hard drive. All videos play fine. never had an issue. Only the current issue

On the PS3, I play the file(s) from the internal hard drive. once again, never had an issue, only the current issue.

Other is my laptop, I used WMP, VLC, Quicktime, and even tried Divx and, all of these players are yielding the same result. As if someone turned the treble way down. I dunno. maybe I'm being too picky?

Below are both logs from my latest encode (Brown ups), and, once again, not too thrilled with the sound :

        Hi GaryJ73167
Please Open Fab click the Click the Green at top right corner of the DVDFab screen, and open Common Settings > General >A/V Codec, set Video Decoder to Software and set Video Encoder to Software restart Fab and try again.

Thanks. I am in those setting now and have more options than what i expected. Here are the options and what they're currently set at:

          Video Decoder
H264 - Currently Set to "DXVA"
VC1 - Currently set to "DXVA"
MPEG2 - Currently Set to "Software"

          Audio Decoder
H.264 - Currently Set to "Software"

Do i want them "all" to be set to software?

You are the BEST !!! That did it. MUCH clearer audio now. Thanks SO much.

Now, out of curiosity, will that change my video quality being I messed with the video encoding, and, how did the video encoder change I just made change my audio quality?

or, am I more confused than i realize right now? Lol

                Seriously though, thank you

                  Hi GaryJ73167
                  Glad to help
Unless you have a high end graphics card that supports Cuda, you are better off leaving everything set to software and everything should run smooth.

Wow. Thanks so much again. this made my day

So, will this effect my video quality due to the fact that i changed settings in the Video Encoder/Decoder?

Ok. thanks again. I bought the software. And, have a Happy Holiday

                            Ugh

Guys/Girls, I'm sorry. My 1st mistake was "NOT" comparing my results to the EXACT same DVD that I was noticing the audio issue with in the first place when I tried your suggestion about the ":Software" decoder/encoder

It appears that "ONLY" the Shrek movie is making it seem like the audio is more crisp. However, if I encode grown ups again, and, any movie (for that matter), the audio still has that muffled sound.

I double checked to make sure my settings stuck when I changed them for the encoding/Decoding.

Please dont misunderstand me though. I know not to expect super hi quality sound, but, some treble would be nice. I dont know why Shrek 3 "appeared" to be working and others NOT working. That is the weird part.

I suppose if I have to live with this, I can deal with it, but, i want to make sure I tried every possible solution before settling...

                            Any other suggestions? So sorry
