Windows XP pc
DVDFab Trial ver. 8.0.6.1
Process: Using DVD Ripper to Decrypt and Rip a Movie from a DVD Disk to my hard drive.
Then I will load the movie onto my Samsung Galaxy Captivate model SGH 1897 Cell Phone
DVD Movie: Iron Man 2 - DVD Disk
Problem: Playing the ripped movie on the Samsung Galaxy Captivate Cell Phone.
When Finished Ripping, I play the movie in VLC and the video and sound are perfect.
When I play the movie on my Samsung cellphone – the video is perfect, but there is no sound.
Samsung Cell Phone: I have other movies on the Samsung cellphone in AAC audio format. They all give perfect sound.
The Samsung cell phone accepts these formats:
Video playback: MPEG4, H.263, H.264, DivX, XviD, WMV, AVI, 3GP, Flash Video
Music player: MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, FLAC, WMA, WAV, AMR, OGG, MIDI
The Audio format on the Iron Man 2 DVD Disk is AC3. The Samsung Galaxy cell phone Will not play the AC3 audio format.
So I chose the following Profile in DVDFab using AAC Audio format
DVDFab Profile: I set DVD Ripper to MP4
Then in the Profile Drop Down Box I chose: Generic mp4 h.264 aac
Fast Encoding – 1 pass
Under Edit – Audio Format I chose: Bitrate 448 kbps – Channel 5.1 Multichannel Volume 100%
Could this be a copy protection on the Iron Man 2 disk that DVD Fab failed to decrypt?
The only Samsung Profile you have is Samsung SGH-A707 (sync)
Its default audio uses Dolby Prologic II – Bitrate 96 kbps
It’s a much older cheaper phone with only a 2” display
So the DVDFab video resolution choice for it is only 320 x 240
My Samsung Phone is the newest model # SGH 1897
It Has a huge 4.2” screen and needs a video resolution of at least 480 x 204
Should I try and rip the dvd again with the same Profile (Generic mp4 h.264 aac)
So I can get the 480 x 204 video resolution
but under Edit – Audio format choose:
Channel – Dolby Prologic II – Bitrate 96 kbps?
Or what other possible solutions can you suggest?
Will you have a Preloaded Profile in DVDFab for the Samsung Galaxy Captivate SGH 1897 phone in the near future?
Thanks
Steve
