DVD Ripper NDS 2-pass conversion locks up

I have an active subscription for DVD copy, and just activated DVD ripper trial to test DVD-to-NDS conversion using 8.0.6.1.

Using 1-pass, I notice problems with cancelling a rip. It causes a freeze or crash. It does complete though if not cancelled.

With 2-pass conversion, it freezes outright right after the first bit of progress indicated on the progress bar. Never successful. Since it doesn't run the problem reporter, I'm including the internal log excerpt below.

    Code:

Not sure if this will help but go to common settings of DVDFab and change the A/V Codec to software for all choices.

Doesn't help, it still crashes. However, perhaps 2-pass isn't necessary.
