BD Ripper (3D Plus) Best BluRay/DVD Conversion settings

    Hello everyone:

I'm a major n00b to the scene here. Downloaded a trial of DVDFab and am highly impressed with how user friendly the software is and very likely will purchase once I get the kinks worked out.

I've just purchased AppleTV and installed the XBMC software on it and am going to begin the long process of converting all of my DVDs and BluRays so that I can stream from a media server.

I'm a bit overwhelmed with what I've been reading -- everyone has different suggestions for conversion, and I'm going for the highesty quality that I can get.

I've settled on VOB conversion for DVD, and I've been reading around the net overwhelmingly that MKV is the best for BluRay.

I've read on here that the MKV Remux profile is the best option for the conversion, but unfortunately (on 2 different machines) the conversion crashes at about 10/11% every time.

    Here's what the log says:
    08:32:50: Conversion
    08:32:50: Source( 00000.m2ts )
    08:38:16: Work 1 failed, Error = 504.00 0 error: process exception, filter(type128:id13), info = 503.00 13,
    08:38:17: Process failed!

When I used the MKV audiocopy profile I had terrible audio/video sync issues.

I apologize if this topic has been discussed to death, but I was hoping to get some recommendations from you experts as to what the best options are for these conversions, since MKV seems to be striking out on me.

    Many thanks for your patience!

    SM

You should post the full logs for the BD you are having an issue with (see Help Us Help You thread). What your are doing should work fine. Have you tried more than one BD title?

      Hi Complication:

Yes, I've gotten other discs to work -- and realized that the remux option just won't be right for me. Streaming to XBMC on AppleTV, and it just can't handle that size, so I'm testing out different options with smaller MKVs now.

      Many thanks for your response!

        Hi smcvey,

        Please try DVDFab 8078beta at

If you still have the same a/v sync issue, please post the full log files as Complication said.
