DVD Ripper DVD Ripper - iPad subtitle timing off

    Hi,
New to the forum, I'm looking for help on an issue that has been bugging me for a few weeks now. I ripped a DVD to my hard drive, using software for all settings on the decoder. When watching the movie from the VOB folders, the subtitles match the film as expected. However, when the same film is converted to iPad format, the subtitles start off a half second slow and progressively get worse and worse. By an hour into the film, the subtitles are 10 minutes behind. Hope someone can help, here are the specs and log:

No ideas? If it helps, the same settings worked perfectly for a different movie, but for this it didn't. The DVD in question is the FOX/Fortune Star release of Warriors Two. Can anyone replicate?
I was using the Dolby Surround Cantonese soundtrack (#5) at Pro Logic 160 kbps and embedded English subtitles.

      Hi PSuzuki,

Please try to reset the output video frame_rate(30000/1001) to lower parameter like 25 or 29.97, then check if you still get the same subtitle timing off problem.

I tried dropping the rate to 25fps, there was no difference as far as I can tell. 5 minutes into the movie the subtitles were already 1 minute behind. Any other ideas?

Any more ideas? I tried the frame rate at 23.967 and the result was the same.

Since you just posted part of the Internal log file I would have to assume you are using DVDFab 8.0.7.8 as that what the burn log you posted says. Update to latest released version as they have fixed many things and this problem you have just could be one of them fixed

I tried updating to the latest and had the same issue... went back to 8.0.7.3 and installed MediaInfo. The main issue I'm having is the subtitle syncing, audio/video sync is fine. This time I was attempting to convert Episode 1 of Cowboy Bebop to ipad format. Checked original framerate with MediaInfo, got 23.976. Set at 1-pass and as close to the original resolution as was available (720x546). Had same issues with subs though, gets progressively worse as the episode progresses, off by 15-20 seconds by the end. Logs:

                Hi PSuzuki,

Our techs are trying to reproduce your problem "subtitles start off a half second slow and progressively get worse and worse.", if it also happens, we will try to fix it (Subtitle not sync with A/V ) as soon as possible.
