DVD Ripper [8076] Deinterlace and Lip Sync

I've been a user of DVDFab for quite some time now, and after a shakey start, got it working "just right". Unfortunately I found myself in a situation where I both accidentally reset my profile to defaults (don't ask!) and upgraded to the latest release at about the same time.

Since then I've found myself with a lot of visible banding on movement (which I suspected was an interlacing issue), even when I selected deinterlace. I cured that, after reading other threads, by trying out the 8076 beta. But since then I've found I'm getting more movie rips (to PS3) that have the lip sync out - not by much, but enough to not look quite right.

I'm sure I went through all this a long time ago, and I thought the main culprit was deinterlacing which I turned off, but I never saw any of the banding, which I do now if I turn it off.

What sort of settings, processes etc are likely to be the causes of sync issues? I'm after any hints or tips here.

Check in common settings of DVDFab A/V Codec to make sure all choices set to Software only to see if fix audio sync problem

Thanks, just downloaded the latest beta, and will also try out the Software Only trick if I get any more.

The ones that I had experienced problems with I managed to convert by other, generally less reliable products, and as I'm ploughing through my DVD collection to get them all on my media server, I'm struggling to remember which ones they were. But I did have a couple of problematic Blu-Rays which are still on the to-do pile, as my alternative won't touch them, so I'll let you know.

The 8.0.8.0 beta alone didn't cure the first Blu-Ray I tried (Serenity) but switching to Software only did. I'll keep you posted if I find any more offenders.

All working like a treat now, including one Blu-Ray that previously had defied all attempts to rip it (Doctor Who Series 4 Complete Specials) which I have retried with each new release I've installed. First version I tried it with repeated the first few seconds of video over and over, but the audio ran normally, second version only ripped the audio, last version (8076) caused DVDFab to fail entirely, but now gladly 8.0.8.0 rips the lot - Result !!!

            Thanks very much.

              Deinterlace and Lip-sync issues

              Hi all,
I am also having issues with deinterlace causing audio to lose sync.

I have set all A/V Codecs to "Software" and tried using 8.0.8.0 beta as well as 8.0.8.3 and they both have the same result. Video is obviously going faster than the audio is which causes an ever increasing gap in audio and video.

My internal_log for both 8.0.8.3 and 8.0.8.0 beta:

                Additional information for my problem..
Tried DVDFab 5.3.5.0 and had no issues. Video and audio remained in sync. Noticed that 5.3.5.0 set the framerate to 23.976 fps while 8.0.8.0 and 8.0.8.3 try to rip the DVD at 29.97 fps. Changed the framerate on 8.0.8.0 to 23.976 and while that is much closer to in sync, the video is still too fast for the audio.

Also, there is no difference whether deinterlace is used or not. Version 8.0.8.0 and 8.0.8.3 both try to process the video at too fast a framerate.
